| Conner had a ruptured anal gland, and I had to take him to the emergency vet. My regular vet said there is not as much fiber in dog food these days and suggested I give Conner a tablespoon of pumpkin every day. He said it would firm up his stools and the glands should empty when he goes. I am going to try it.

| My dog had anal gland issues and it turned out to be a tumor in his anus. The vet misdiagnosed him as having allergies and anal gland issues. We wasted a lot of time on antibiotics. He had the tumor removed and he is fine now. We now use this supplement and it works great. K9 Granola Factory - SUPPLEMENTS

| Do every dog's anal glands have to be expressed? Or is it like only a male thing.. Do females get is expressed too? Cause when i told the groomer to do this she told me Mimi does not have anything..

| Not every dog needs help expressing their glands-- some express them naturally on their own when they have a bowel movement, but others need help from time to time. Females as well as males-- they all have the glands. It may just be that Mimi's express fine without any help, and there was nothing in them for the groomer to express.
