| Hi Patti~ glad to see Cali is eating and playing......CeCe was actually running and playing with Sasha last night and this morning proceeded to eat Sasha's breakfast after finishing her own!!! Maybe we can both get a good nights sleep in this weekend???? I was reading up on HGE yesterday.......Once they have had it, they are suseptible to getting it again. Oh boy, I sure hope this doesn't happen again!!

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Thanks Connie!!! Cocoangel- I am so happy Cece is back to normal as I think Cali is too. Did it say what precautions to take so they don't get it again? Thanks

Lady had three HGE attacks in four months so we explored different causes. Addison's Disease is one cause. In Lady's case, it seems her pancreas wasn't breaking down her food properly and undigested food was causing bacteria to build up in her intestinal tract. In diabetics like Lady or dogs prone to pancreatitis, this may be the cause. I switched Lady to a homecooked diet and added digestive enzymes and she's been fine ever since (knock wood).

I don't think volunteering had anything to do with it. Clostridium builds up in the intestines for some reason. It's not something you would have carried in on yourself and infected Cali with.
