| ![]() That's so scary because Tyke is also getting over a bladder infection. He's on an antibiotic for it but they said to stop all his other meds until this clears up. He is better today it seems. He is actually walking and moving around. If he hears someone at the door he'll bark or walk over to see who it is whereas yesterday he wouldn't even do that. We are having heavy winds right now and he got scared so right now he is in the basement with my other brother where he can't feel or hear the wind ![]() I'd like to say that I think he'll be fine but I am really afraid to get my hopes up. He has a heart condition (enlarged heart), arthritis, slipped disc in his back, tore his ACL several years back, has cataracts...and I can honestly say that yesterday was the sickest I had ever seen him. I would also think that if the vet thought it was bad, she would've warned us. Instead she told us it would take 7-10 days for this to pass. So she is acting like he should be OK...but I'm just one of those people where I worry unless I am told straight up what is going to happen, what to expect, etc. And again, I don't know why he was put on the previcox but he has been on that for a long time with no problems whatsoever. His pain/stiffness went away. So I honestly don't believe that is what caused the problem. He is on 1/2 a pill of that. Just send happy thoughts and your prayers for healing for Tyke this way...if something happens to that little boy, I don't know what I'll do ![]() ![]()

| ![]() Well..Tyke seemed better yesterday, then he threw up four times before midnight, and had diarrhea. His vomit didn't show any food...this morning it was decided that perhaps he should be hospitalized for the day at the vet where they want to do tests, x-rays, etc. and hopefully hydrate him and all that fun stuff. Hopefully we can bring him back tonight ![]() I am upset but relieved at the same time...at least there I know he'll be under excellent care by people who are trained to care for this sort of thing. I just really wish we could fast forward to next week so I know what the possible outcome could be instead of sitting around worrying 24/7. I can't help but cry whenever I think about it. Looking at him, you can tell he doesn't feel well but he's not absolutely miserable. At least I don't think he looks that way. He does lay around a lot...but he did before...he's an older dog so you really can't go by that. His tummy doesn't feel as tight as what it did before. Or maybe I'm just finding reasons to convince myself he's better and will be OK ![]() ![]()

| ![]() Talked to vet's office a bit before 2ish... They were just about to give Tyke barium and run more x-rays/tests on him. They said he hadn't thrown up and is on an IV for hydration. He MIGHT be able to come home tonight...no guarantees. The vet will be calling my mom around 4 with some answers. So hopefully by tonight we'll know what to expect. I don't think I ever prayed as hard as I did yesterday. I've never lost a family member...and if I lose him, it's going to hurt ![]()

| ![]() Our Sophie was sick with pancriatis a couple of months ago. The vet kept her for four days and put her on IV treatment immediately. He made sure she was getting enough liquids and medications. Sophie had eaten something bad in someone's yard as we walked around the block. She is all well now and the Vet told us that it is very easy for small dogs to get sick like this. I pray that your little fur baby will be fine after treatment. God Bless you and your sweet fur baby.
