Post ACL Surgical Scare- Tracheal Collapse Wonderful development to a botched ACL surgery- After our 11 yr old yorkie' trachea collapsed during surgery she was revived and we brought her home. We were told to re-evalute, that we could try again but we should wait and see how she does. To our delight she is weight bearing, hobbles some, walks normal some, has resumed doing small stairs when she feels good. The leg is getting stronger and is not atrophying. She gets regular massage, reiki therapy and some chiropratic. Last week after a reiki session she was like a puppy playing, running, chasing even jumping-- the happy little girl we love and know. We are thrilled that we see her happy again, and may even go for short walks with her which she loves and looks forward too!

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | That's great news!! Wow. Maybe she is healing afterall. Honestly, I sometimes do not think some vets know how to properly intubate yorkies, or perhaps the right equipment just doesn't exist. My Marcel had issues after his neuter (with his gag being triggered for 2 weeks, post surgery; I think the nerve bundle was overly irritated) -- and I am totally sure it is from the intubation. Makes me wonder what is happening and what needs to happen instead.

Most throat's problems are due to bad intubation . My friend's Yorkie never cough but after surgery she began to cough . The vet told her it was because her dog was fragile . Needless to say she started to look for another vet .

Please tell me more about Reiki for dogs? How long have you been doing this for? Do normal Reiki therapists usually do pets?

reiki for dogs My reiki therapist is an amazingly talented person. She first and foremost is an animal lover, has horses and dogs, a golden, reck and a shepard. She teaches horseback riding, and therapy for people using horseback. She has a wellness center, is a pilates instructor, offers other holistic modalities and is developing a new reiki technique - an amazing experience. Through her training both with animals and humans she has an in depth knowledge of the phsyical structures- skeletal muscular, etc. She speaks like a physician or vet. While she does not profess to have those degrees she does apply her knowledge to tend to healing with reiki. Her clients wait in line, and her clients also freely bring in their pets. As for reiki, dogs and cats respond well and when you see them you agree, they bask in the experience. I watched my yorkie in total esctacy get up and bounce around like a pup-- she felt relieved, recharged and wanted to play. The reiki itself is just a light touch, or hands over not on the pet, so there is no hard hands-on that takes place. I am sure there are plenty of folks who would work with pets--good luck. We are just very spoiled with such a wonderful and giving person who is changing the lives of my family and our wonderful yorkie!
