| Well, today the bile acids test came back and all liver enzymes and bile acids are normal. The urinalysis also showed normal everything. So, we've ruled out a shunt and I actually slept last night. I was so upset and sick about this little guy but now I have to think, what is it. We also ran a cortisol level test and it too, was fine. With this test, they ruled out Addison's Disease. There were a couple other tests that were slightly elevated or decreased. Next week Linus has an appt with a neurologist. His blood sugar was also fine as well so they said it's not hypoglycemia (which they never thought it was, but wanted a definate.) So, very strange little guy I have here. He's as crazy as a bed bug and intermittently has this head bob still. I wish I knew. I have a feeling the neurologist is going to say 'I don't know' cause that would be my luck! I'm just very, very happy there is no shunt!!!!!!! |

Wow, I don't know about that only being hypoglycemia since the lady says she's already given nutri-cal.... That's what Miko has looked like in the past during some of his episodes of HE (hepatic encephalopathy)...The bobbing head is definitely something we've experienced here with Miko. Of course he's also had extremely scary episodes which involve full out seizures. But that video is definitely a familiar sight to us...

| Yes, basically, it's something to do with the brain. I'm just afraid of going to Toronto and spending big bucks and still no answer. I just don't get it. He's an extremely happy guy, eats, drinks, poops, pees....just this head thing. When he does, it looks like he's sniffing a little too intense and the head bobs back and even sets him on his butt, his eyes flicker like crazy....I've done so much research online and can't find anything even remotely close. I hope the neurologist can put my mind at ease that it's something maybe he'll grow out of. |
