| Yorkie breed, morning sickness? Hello all I'm new 1ST. post. I'm asking for advice, not lecture. I bred my Abby 21 days ago with a breeder that I admire very much. Abby is a 2 year old ack beautiful 5.7lbs yorkie. First breeding. She isn't feeling well at all and I'm concerned. She has'nt been able to keep anything down. She's been throwing up, not eating or drinking very much. I've tried everything I know to get her past this, soda crackers, her favorite treat, beef broth, canned dog food that she loves etc. She will try to eat but everything seems to be coming back up.We took her to the vet yesterday they did blood work, wanted a stool sample ( STOOL IS ALL WATEREY) and ask for a urine sample. Other than that didn't seem too concerned. Is this normal for some to be so sick because of being bred? Any helpful advice to help my Abby? Are her puppies going to be ok? Please advise asp!! |

| Ya they do have morning sickness, but the dog should be eating and DRINKING. You did the right thing by going to the vet. Make sure she get some water. Hope it is nothing serious! Good luck and keep us updated please. |

Donating YT 10K Club Member | Some do have morning sickness. I'd try a bland diet of boiled chicken and rice...but small meals throughout the day vs 2 meals.

| Hi! Welcome to YT. I think your best bet would be to call the vet office back and ask for more direction on what you can do, what you can expect to happen, what red flags to look out for. No matter how trivial my concerns may be, my vet is always interested in my concerns and tries hard to put my fears, real or irrational, to rest. He'll spend however much time he needs to answer all my questions. And the office follows up with calls to see how things are going. Perhaps they are waiting for the results of the tests to come back, but you can still call with an update and ask for more direction. Good luck, keep us posted.

| yorkie , morning sickness Ok I made some boiled chicken and white rice for Abby and she scarfed it down. She had some watery stool afterword, but so far has kept it down. I also had read that pure pumkin, kaopectate and pedialite were good so I have purchased those. Any ideas on how much of each? Remember now she more than likly is in welp(?) is that how you say it if she's pregnant or is that only when they are ready to whep? |
