I looked into the dog flu and it doesn't sound like what Katie has. She is having problems in her tummy and digestive system. It sounds like the dog flu affects the respiratory system and the dogs have gagging, and coughing and a low grade fever. Thankfully Katie isn't experiencing any of these systems. Thanks though. | |

| Donating YT 1000 Club Member | I hope your baby is going to be ok. I lost my Lhasa Poo in June, one of her issues was Pancreatitis. With blood work and X-Ray other things showed up that weren't even on the radar when she had a senior blood work up done just 4 weeks earlier. Vomiting and diahrea were two of the things she suddenly started which made me take her to the vet to start with. I hope your pup is able to come home and be healthy soon, it is so hard to go through this with them. |

| I am so sorry your little one is sick... I hope the vet can find out exactly what it is too. It makes my heart ache to know one of our precious little yorkie's are not well. I am sureKatie is going to be very happy to see you today. I hope she can come home very soon, and feel better.

| Donating YT 30K Club Member | Hoping Katie is all better soon. Cali is doing much better. She was treated the same as she had parvo with 2 shots and 2 meds. I am going to stop the meds tomorrow and see what happens.

| i just wanted to write all of you and let you know that we brought katie home from the pet hospital tonight! just got back with her. she is better and the vet believes she is on the mend. she still has some healing left to do and she has several medications that we have to give her over the next 10 days (thankfully she came home with a sheet of instructions! ) they weren't able to pinpoint the exact cause of what made her so sick causing all the vomiting and diarrhea, but the vet said the most likely cause was HGE (hemorrhagic gastroenteritis), GI toxicity or possibly a flare up of an underlying GI problem. we're just happy she is getting better and at home. thanks to all of you who prayed and kept us in your thoughts. |

| I'm so glad that Katie is better and home with you now. Lady had HGE in May and it was the scariest thing I have ever been through. She got so sick so fast. She seemed to have a little upset tummy in the morning and didn't want her breakfast. Four hours later I had to rush her the vet because she had pure blood diarrhea. Did your vet tell you what Katie's packed cell volume was? That would tell him if it was HGE or not. Dogs with HGE have a PVC of 60% or more. (Normal is 35-55%). |

| What dog flu?? I am asking because a couple of weeks ago both Miss Daisy and Miss Rosie had the runs, (which scared the poo out of me, no pun intended!!) Their vet put them on Science Diet Id, and also an RX for metronidazole (10 days). It was particulary frightening since Rose at the time was not even 14 weeks old.. They are both okay now though, thank God!
