| Erin- I am sooo glad that Koda is OK! Please post pics of the wonderful homecoming! And I HATE spiders of any kind-so this is a really CrEePy thread. Kinda makes my skin crawl. Yucky!! I am sure you are feeling it too. My thoughts are with you guys on your spiderbusting!

| He's home!!! Aww what a good feeling! I was able to pick him up yesterday afternoon at 2:30. Koda is 110% fine, and the way he's acting proves it, lol! He is such a nut, when we got home he went straight to sniffing Kammie's butt to make sure it was her and then kissed her for about 30 seconds straight licking her all over her head, lol! And then he had the zoomies FOREVER!!! Kind of like a high bounce rubber ball in a round room! He was so darn happy to be home, as of course we were to have him there. I don't know what I would have done without him here anymore, he's my BOY!! I tear up thinking about what could have happened if I would have been sleeping when he started showing the symptoms and had to suffer alone. I guess I can be thankfull for imsomnia in this case. For those of you who were wondering about black widows in your area, the vet stated they have been found in all 48 continental US states. Some states more than others, but they are here. The wind can catch the eggs or baby spiders (sometimes up to 200 per BW), don't remember which and the wind moves them all over the place. That's how they get so many places. The spider we saw on our porch was shiny black and the kind that you see and cringe wiht the thick body. I wasn't close enough to see if it had the red hourglass on the side. But from the pics the vet pulled up on his puter and what I saw there was a definate match, then the symptoms Koda experience were 100% the same. So even though we didn;t have the spider to see for sure it's a postive match he said. He said Koda was probably laying down relaxing (which he does ouside in the grass) when he was bit. It's possible the bite itself wasn't the most painful, and sometimes can go unnoticed until symptoms appear. But anyhow, he's home! We are stopping by the groomers this afternoon to see if he can get a quickie groom to try and make his legs a little more even from where they shaved for the IV. Were gonna take tons of pics tonight of our little "SpiderYorkie SURVIVOR"!!!! He told his Daddy that he wanted to get some new toys and of course Daddy said he could! So were doing that today also, he sure has his Mommy and Daddy wrapped doesn't he!! He's gonna get all the extra special treatment he possibly can and he knows it, lol! Kammie is feeling a bit witchy though, everytime she sees him walking through a room she runs full force and rolls him over, it's so funny!I will get all of our thank you's and answers to specific questions out this evening to everyone who has supported my boy through this creepy situation and had questions about it. I thank goodness for YT more and more everyday!! I don't know what I would have done without the quick replies and the 800# for animal poison control directing me what to do. I'm off to find a couple of things to post in the garage sale section, I have hefty vet bill payments to make in the next month. Thankfully we have been seeing my vet since around 1982 with my first kitten Snowy and then my kitty Mittens R.I.P. and he lets us do payments!Thank you all Yt'ers!!! Your wonderful caring people and deserve to be told that over and over again!! |

| Well, I don't know where I was 10 days ago - but I just now saw this thread. Wow, I'm so sorry for everything you went thru with Koda - and so incredibly thankful your vet was on top of it! I have really learned something valuable here, that I did not know before. Hope your hubby keeps that cell phone glued to himself now!

| Thank goodness this had a happy outcome...I'm so happy to hear your baby is doing fine now. But how terrified you must have been...I would have been too. I have often worried something like this would happen, me living in a small town without 24/7 ER vet care. I would literally have to drive quite aways with a sick, injured or dieing dog to find a vet...scary thought. I've posted the phone numbers given here on my bulletin board...just in case of an emergency, thanks YT!!!
