my puppy is sick i need to vent! i feel terrible...my yorkie has been sick off and on since i got her...i got her way to young ( i had no idea that i shouldnt of gotten her so young but now i know and ive learned my lesson!) i got her at 8 weeks....i wish the person who sold it to me would've said something but i should have done my homework...anyway im upset. shes been sick with diarrhea and vomiting off and on since i got her....so ive had to take her to the vet many times...she gets sick...gets better....then gets sick again! well 2 days ago she was fine...running around and eating and everything....then a few hours later throws up and it all goes down hill.....so yesterday morning i take her to the vet and they tell me i have to wait till monday to know for sure but they are almost certain its giardia.....and they did a parvo test which thankfully was negative!! so he injects her with fluids because she was dehydrated.....and he gives me a mixture of albon and flagyl suspension.....the thing is after i bring her home from the vet up until now she just lays in bed sick....and when she does walk she kind of falls on her face....and i have to force feed her....and i dont mind taking care of the puppy i love her already but i just dont know what to do along the way to help comfort her and help her feel a little better through recovery... on top of all this she suffers from hypoglycemia! im just terrified shes not going to make it at only 11 weeks old....im upset that shes still sick...but what im most upset about is that i was so stupid and got a dog that wasn't old enough to leave its mother.....and im mad at the idiot who sold her to me! i know this all sounds like gibberish but i need to vent so hopefully someone can understand what i wrote and can message me even if its to tell me how dumb i am....i hope jozy makes it because i really do care about her and want her around for a long time!

I feel your pain. I did the same thing only my puppy was 6 weeks old when I got her. I fell in love instantly and she feels like one of my kids. However, she has been very sick the last couple of weeks also. (Seizures) In and out of the hospital. I don't mind taking care of her. I love her so much already. It just hurts to watch her go through all of this. Right now she doesn't even want me to touch her, which is really tough. I just wish I could take her pain away. Yorkie's are such a beautiful breed and you see them everywhere. I must say, I did research a little before we chose her but I wasn't prepared for her to have health issues so soon. When reading about Yorkie health issues I thought it mostly meant later in life. Wishing your baby a speedy recovery.

I got maravilhosa at 8 weeks she flew 12 hour flight.. and then waited at customs for 2 hours, then we had a three hour drive home.. she weighed 1.5 pounds.. she did great.. right from the start.. I breed and know a baby at that age is too young.. in fact I did not know she was on the plane until 9 p.m when she was already enroute.. that was scary.. but she was healthy.. not saying much for the breeder I bought her from. to leave a message saying she is on her way put us in a tail spin.. But it sucks that breeders sell puppies at such a young age.. and do not seem to care that they are healthy enough, are old enough.. and can handle this transition with ease.. I am sorry for what your going through.. make sure she eats often even if you have to give her boiled chicken and rice or fry hamburger and add rice to it.. and put carrots and peas in it.. just remember they need dog food with all the vitamins in it also.. pleas watch her blood sugar levels and let her have something on demand.. if you need any help ask me.. If I cannot help you I will lead you to a breeder that will... good luck and praying for you baby...anne

Hun, do not be mad at yourself, I do blame the breeder though. I do believe it is a very stressful time to a puppy when they transition to a new home, and when the immune system drops then the pup is susiptable to illness. I am so sorry to hear about this. I hope your little one will start feeling better quicky.
