At this point if the Vet you are currently seeing will not refer you to where you choose to go then I would DEMAND it. We had to with one of our girls. Our vet wanted to run test after test and instead of racking the bills up with all of that. We told her that we wanted to see a specialist. One visit with the specialist and he had things under control. It was the best 120.00 we have spent to date. Our reg vet bills were way out of control. Nearing 4500.00 in only 6 mos. Had we seen the specialist a long time ago we would have saved a lot of money. So don't let the word Specialist make you think high dollar. They are specialists for a reason and you will save in the long run. I hope Cosmo does get to see a specialist if anything for piece of mind. A lot of regular vets are not familiar with the more complicated issues.

Not sure how far away Cornell is for you or these other places. I just did a google search for New York Vet Specialists and a lot of info came back.

So sorry if you took it as a guilt trip but it wasn't ment that way.. I honestly think you are taking things to wrong way.. If I had something to say as you know from the past I would have already said it.. I have told you how I feel.. And you had just told me last week you were taking Cosmo to Cornell so why are you being so defesive with me.. I know the pain you are going through is what I was saying and If it was what Babybear was going through(I dont' think i said what Cosmo was going through) then I feell for Babybear.. But BB suffered for a very long time.. So I kind of know the pain he went through is what I was saying. and I know the pain you are going through.. Enough said.
I guess for now on i will keep my comments to myself..

It looks like yesterday, March 18, was one month since Cosmo got hurt. How is he? Have you found a specialist to go to? Do you have spring break & some time off school so you can get him to a different vet? Praying so much is better for both of you

Just checking on Cosmo to see how he is doing. I think a lot of people here have been afraid to ask but I am wondering if their is any improvement with the head tilt, pain...

Haven't seen any updates posted.

WOW!!! I have just read this entire thread and figured Cosmo would have already been seen by the right people...

I am sorry if I offend anyone but why all the excuses??? This poor baby needs to be seen by a neurologist.

It has now been more than a month... If you dont have the time for this poor baby maybe you need to find someone that can put his needs first:thumbdown

I have just caught up on this thread again.. it seems like there was a big misunderstanding... I think Cosmos mom has been very stressed out and was probably very tired when she read Val's post. We all know Val has nothing but good intentions and good advise, and I think Cosmo's mom just took it up the wrong way. Having said that, I can understand her stress, and just wish she would come back and give us an update on Cosmo.

We really do care about Cosmo and his Mommy! Let bygones be bygones.. Val, please continue to help others and Marcella, please update us.

I was very concerned by reading all that you have gone thro' with Cosmo, My Goodness! He is getting better and better, nothing will be more wonderful than this. At your age, you manage so well and I am proud of your love and care for Cosmo who is really lucky to have you as his mum. Nobody can do it better I guess. It is very kind of you sharing all these with us because we are all here for the love of all dogs esp. yorkies. Many people might have the same experience as you did but everyone doesn't feel the same way and they just only try to help. I am nearly 50 years old man, these days, when I talked to my friends, I always give feedback that the one didn't go thro' exactly what I have been while the one told me what to do if the one were me. However, we all see how you care and love Cosmo, keep going on and all the best for you both.

That's just it though. When you post on here you have a group of caring souls who REALLY want to help... and we wait patiently for any updates.

It is also very easy for things to be taken out of context- especially when they are typed out and not spoken.

So many of us have been given first hand advice from people who have dealt with situations and problems first hand and we are all here for one another.

And for that, I am VERY grateful we have help and support when we need it.
I feel that without YT, I really don't know where I'd be.

Last I knew it was Spring Break for her.. Maybe she is getting better herself and trying to make sure that Cosmo is taken care of..I am sure she will post soon.. I do remember her saying she was on Spring Break though last week she IMed me...

You know what...cosmo is doing MUCH better...but after that comment i'm done with YT. Thanks to all those who actually did UNDERSTAND, I just don't need to read things like that after all i'm going through, I don't need to add YT to my list of worries.
