Talk gently and reassuringly and tell her to calm down and sit Tilt her head back slightly to open the airway more and gently massage her throat This is what I've been doing and it works perfectly for us

Lovin' 2 Girls Donating Member | Vicky, I'm so sorry that Miss Gypsy has TC! My Mozart has had it for some years, and does fine unless I try to walk him on leash. I don't use a collar on him, either - but, even the pressure of a harness bothers him. So, he stays at home, when Abigail gets walked . I feel quite guilty leaving him behind.

| Vicky - sorry to hear about Gypsy. I hope it doesn't get worse. She is still really young, isn't she? Gee, if you're that good at calming her down, imagine how good you'll be with AG!!! |

| My little Dylan has CT also. It is caused by genetics and can be aggravated by intubating for surgery or kennel cough. My little guy is only 2 years old (tomorrow) and has had it since he was neutered at 8 mths. He is not on medication either but he is having more and more honking episodes (when excited). My new vet suggested using a nebulizer so I ordered one from ebay. I hope it helps. My vet is against the medications also if we can keep it under control without them. Keeping them trim and in shape is also suppose to help. I hope Gypsy continues to do well and doesn't require meds for a long time. The surgery is also pretty risky and should only be done if absolutely necessary. Last edited by tpaxton23; 01-11-2008 at 01:31 PM. |

| So sorry to hear about Gypsy. I hope that she does ok with the new bundle of joy you'll be bringing home - I know there are a lot of emotions for these little ones when someone takes their mommy's time.
