My little Dylan has CT also. It is caused by genetics and can be aggravated by intubating for surgery or kennel cough. My little guy is only 2 years old (tomorrow) and has had it since he was neutered at 8 mths. He is not on medication either but he is having more and more honking episodes (when excited). My new vet suggested using a nebulizer so I ordered one from ebay. I hope it helps. My vet is against the medications also if we can keep it under control without them. Keeping them trim and in shape is also suppose to help.

I hope Gypsy continues to do well and doesn't require meds for a long time. The surgery is also pretty risky and should only be done if absolutely necessary.
