| ![]() I posted this on your other thread: Be very, very careful with him. Look up something called Atlanto-Axial subluxation. My very first Chihuahua had it, and needed neurosurgery. It sounds very similar, and even jarring the dog with the neck out of place can sever the spinal cord. I'm not meaning to scare you, but please just look into it. Hugs, Joy

So glad he's feeling better. I thought the same thing as some elses posted above: Atlanto-Axial subluxation ** THIS IS VERY SERIOUS ** Please do a little research online about AAI /AAS - Also ask your Vet about this. PLEASE - there are too many babies that go undetected and then a slight movement and they break their necks, in some cases this leaves them paralyzed. Please check into this, ok? And 'if' for some reason he has AAI /AAS - then you can have surgery done to stablize the neck and you won't have to worry about him breaking it and being paralyzed. There are a few members here that have gone through this, and they would never wish it upon anyone as it is heartbreaking and very stressful. Please keep us posted. | |

My Babybear is one that has AAI/AAS he broke his neck when he was a year and ten months... He still can not walk,I work with him daily.. He did this over a year and a half ago... Yorkies or any pup for that matter with neck problems she be treated like little china dolls.. Please Babybear has a lot of info on his dogster page..http://www.dogster.com/dogs/136060 Read his diary (archives) you can see his story.. We lost him at first he died at my feet... My husband gave him mouth to mouth to save his life.. He went undetected with his AAI.. So please read his webpage and contact us if need be.. He now has a email addy also.. Babybearswheels@aol.com if you would like more information or like to talk... Or you can Private message me... But please do not let him jump or do anything crazy.. Even after he gets his cast off.. I don't want to see anyone go through what I have or do every day.. Don't want to scare you but this is very serious...
