| Help...my puppy has been getting sick:( My puppy is 5 months old and the weirdest thing started happening. Last Monday he got sick 3 times, Tuesday once, Wednesday 2 times and Friday once. He acts completely normal and he eats and drinks like normal. He is teething and I know that some of his baby teeth are loose and are ready to come out. I have watched him eat and it looks like he chews a couple times and swallows(kibble)...and when he got sick most of those times the food was not digested. Could it be from not chewing up his food all the way? Sorry to be so graphic...but I just wanted to know if anyone else has seen this with their puppy...he is acting just like his wild and crazy self...doesn't seem tired or lethargic at all...it is just weird. I decided that if he did it again he will go to the vet...he goes in on the 17th to be fixed. What do you all think?

| I was told by my vet that it's not normal for them to throw up regularly like that. Our dog was doing it a couple times a month for a while. So I would take your puppy to the vet. They can get dehydrated very quickly and go from frisky to lethargic and ill in no time. I wonder if it's pancreatitis. That can come on whenever they eat anything too fatty for them. Your puppy isn't getting table scraps, is he? And hopefully isn't chewing on anything outside? Ours got sick on rhodadendron leaves she was ripping off our bush. |

| Has he lost any teeth yet. Maybe he is having trouble chewing the kibbles. I know when Deiter was loosing his teeth he could chew it up enough to diegest it. So after a trip to the vet he said that was due to the kibbles being to hard to chew with loosing the teeth and told me to put a little water on it and let sit for a few to soften it up so he chew it up easier. After I did that Deiter was fine. Good luck

| Thank you for your replies. We only feed Riley things like green beans, peas and maybe the occassional pinch of shredded cheese as a treat...but other than that he just eats his kibble...he doesn't like wet food. He has been eating this kibble for about 2 months..so its not a change in his diet. He hasn't thrown up today so we will just keep a very close eye on him. Thanks again! I will try the water thing to soften the kibble.
