Has he lost any teeth yet. Maybe he is having trouble chewing the kibbles. I know when Deiter was loosing his teeth he could chew it up enough to diegest it. So after a trip to the vet he said that was due to the kibbles being to hard to chew with loosing the teeth and told me to put a little water on it and let sit for a few to soften it up so he chew it up easier. After I did that Deiter was fine. Good luck
