| If we leave Max home alone, he's got free run of the entire house (other than the cat's room where they are confined and I wouldn't mind him staying with them, but he gets into their food and I'm afraid he might get into the litter box if left unsupervised

| ok So Chloe is 16 months old = she gets free run of the entire house. Sissy is now 7 months = she gets free run of the house if the girls are alone 4 hours or less, otherwise Sissy is in a playpen with a cover on it cause she'll climb out. Starr is 8 weeks tomorrow and she has only been here for 12 hours so far and I have left her only to take a shower ha ha, in her playpen but when I go to work later today = she will be in her crate for at least 6 months

| They go with me every day to work, so they are only home alone when we go out in the evenings or weekend. I let them run the house, which is bad because they piddle a lot in the house. I don't blame them them though, bad training on my part. We're working on it and they don't do it at all at work. Sorry, off the subject. It's probably the best to confine them to a limited part of the house. Then they aren't in a crate, but are still safe from dangers they could find all over the house while you aren't home.

| When we're gone for more than an hour, Trixie will stay in the kitchen with a baby gate to confine her. When it's a quick errand, I'll let her have the appartment (with some doors closed). We have a whole in our carpet and that's why I think we're still a little leery of letting her run around by herself. Although she sleeps mostly when we're gone.

| Sabastian has free run of the house......we have always left the t.v. on for Lily and Sabastian, they like cartoons and Animal Planet. Plus, its distracts any outside noises which cause Sabastian to go into 'protection' mode and bark his little head off! We have never come home to anything 'torn' up, just puppy toys scattered about the house! |

| Unfortunately, Twinkie can't be trusted alone. She will get bored and chew things, plus she gets mad that I have left without her so she pees on the floor. So I have to crate Twinkie when I'm not home.... and I feel bad because Princess chihuahua has free run of our condo....but she never gets into trouble...

| Codie and Tia have the kitchen, dining room and hallway. I don't allow them in the bathroom, bedroom or living room ... I'd too afraid that they will bite a TV cord or something else and get hurt. But my kitchen, dining room and hallway are very spacious.

| I did vote "free run of the house" BUT.... I started off with crate-training. And every time I left him alone in the house, he was crated. Once he did well with that, we moved to confining him to one room. ONLY after a month or two of no accidents or chewed/destroyed room items (lol) then we started letting him have full run of the house. Of course, we close the door to the room where the bird is, but that is only for the protection from the cat, haha! Sully is interested in the bird, but after getting his little black button nose pecked on day 1, he leaves the bird alone! LOL!!!! So yes, now we do let Sully have full run of the house, but it's only because he's well trained.

| I voted for "Confining to a room with a baby gate or door". We live in a condo so we do not have a lot of space but big enough for him to run and exercise. I usually use puppy gate and confine Siu Pao in the kitchen but he can still watch tv through the puppy gate but usually by the time we come home, he manage to escape the puppy gate and have a free run of the house.

| Hmmm...I put "free run of the house/large room" If I'm only going to Wal-Mart or somewhere for an hour-ish, I'll leave her out in the house. If it's longer than that, she stays in our bedroom/bathroom, which is a pretty sizable area for her. Heck, all she wants to do is lay on my bed anyhow |

| My boyfriend and I work from home so Pete is rarely alone. If its under an hour or so we leave him with full run, if its over an hour we put his doggie bed and food and water in our bedroom and close the door (his pee pad is also in our connected bathroom.

| Pepper stays in the kitchen. To keep him there we set up an xpen as a fence so he can't get to the bathroom and living room. Office room is closed and his couch the high side up protects him from going into bedroom as he can't jump over it. Works perfectly for now, once I feel we can trust him with not biting etc he'll have the run of the house. The kitchen is big and he has a few beds and all toys there.

| Ninna gets confined in Gianna's bathroom (her room) with a doggie gate in front. She gets classical music left on her radio or a portable tv with cartoons as well as alot of toys and fun stuff... but we dont really leave her alone too much. so this is in case we can't take her with us.
