They go with me every day to work, so they are only home alone when we go out in the evenings or weekend.  I let them run the house, which is bad because they piddle a lot in the house.  I don't blame them them though, bad training on my part.  We're working on it and they don't do it at all at work.  Sorry, off the subject.  It's probably the best to confine them to a limited part of the house.  Then they aren't in a crate, but are still safe from dangers they could find all over the house while you aren't home.
