				   | I place a towel around Jade and Mitsou to restrain them when I cut their nails. Nathan is a dream come true . I just turn him on his back and he don't move . |

				   | I try to cut chloe's nails but it usually consists of several tries. For instance she will lay on my lap and sleep when I am on the computer so I try to keep clippers nearby and I will try to clip one of her nails while she is asleep. But thats all I can get is one nail because then she will wake up and not let me touch her feet anymore . Othertimes I will try my best to firmly hold her and cut her nails but she fights so hard with me so I usually give up after a few nails. Im so afraid if anyone else tried to cut her nails they would severly hurt her(actually she would be hurting herself) because they wont realize how hard she fights to not get her nails cut. Its just sooooo hard and I think me and chloe both dread nail clipping time equally.

				   | Actually, I can answer yes and no! I prefer her vet to clip her nails, but if they need it before her vet visit, I do it! We are fortunate that little Toto has a "footsie fettish"! She loves her little feet massaged and rubbed and doesn't mind us doing anything to them!!

				   | Yes I definitely cut Tiger's nails. I have not taken him to the groomer ever and the vet normally does it for me at N/C as it is part of the normal check-up routine. But now that he is complete with his shots for the time being, then I have been doing it myself. I got the clipper at walmart . .fairly inexpensive. I always clean my Tigers 4 paws, his behind and his thinking every single time he relieves himself. So he is fairly used to me paw handling him . However, he can sometimes resist and wonders what contraption I am holding . So the best time for me to cut his nails is in the early morning (saturday when we don't have to get up so early yet bright enough) when he is not quite so awake yet. Or better, if you can do it while he is asleep. I always do it every other week and I only nip the edge of the nails, as shown to me by my vet. Also, it is better to clip at an angle making sure that when his paws are firm on the ground it levels (hope I explained that well enough ). Doing it yourself isn't so hard and it sure saves you a ton of money. Hope this helps. I have never filed but would like to get a filer . . . .can anyone tell me if I can use human mail filers? |

				   | I do it myself. You need let ur baby familiar with the nail cutting. Maybe in the first a few times, they fear, they shake, but they will get use of it, if you usually try to cut their nails. You can buy the tool for puppy nail cutting at supermkt. Please not that, do not cut too deep, it will coz ur baby bleeding. Try to cut just a little bit for the first time. And give ur baby some snack after that cutting. Do not go to Vet for nail cutting. toooo expensive! |

				   | I clip Neos nails myself.Maggie i havent yet but i will.I bought some clippers from walmart (6 bucks)at first it was hard to make him stay still, very worried myself about cutting to short.I set him in my lap i guess like you would a young child.I take the foot i am working on and kind of press on the pad while pushing back the hair so i can see the nail.Make sure you can see the nail you can tell the difference on where to cut(just like our nails are 2 different colors)after a while they just get use to it like baths, walks, command words, ect....Neo still wiggles but its over in a matter of a min or two.

				   | 1. How many of you cut your own Yorkie's nails? I have been doing it since day 1 2. How do you do it? I stand up and hold him with my left arm and hold the clippers in my right arm. It's totally fool-proof. 3. How do you keep your Yorkie still!!?? Since we are standing up and he doesn't want to fall and hurt himself, he doesn't fidget. I used to try every damn position with him, but one of us would always end up getting hurt. He would fight to the death - clawing me and biting until I would give up. Then, I realized that he needed to be a little bit afraid. Before I figure out that I could stand up and cut them and he would sit still, I would run the vacuum in the other room. He is afraid of the vacuum, so he would sit still. Sounds mean, but it was the ONLY way he would behave. 4. What kind of nail clippers/scissors do you use? Some cheap ones I got from PETsMart 5. How often do you cut them? about once every month

				   | I always trim Lucy's right after a bath while they're soft. I keep her wrapped in a towel and take one paw out at a time to trim the nails. I use the trimmer with a hole in it and do just slightly more than the tips each time. I hold her in my lap with my left arm and trim with my right hand. She didn't like it at all the first couple of times, but now she watches.
