I always trim Lucy's right after a bath while they're soft. I keep her wrapped in a towel and take one paw out at a time to trim the nails. I use the trimmer with a hole in it and do just slightly more than the tips each time. I hold her in my lap with my left arm and trim with my right hand. She didn't like it at all the first couple of times, but now she watches.
