| Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | I came to the conclusion that girls are more clingy to guys (human), and boys are more clingy to female (human), that's what happens in our house hold. Lola clings onto all men( my room mate, my dad, my brother, my male friends....), Riley, Oliver and Stewie cling onto me, my mom, and my best friend...

| Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | I wonder if this is sex-specific. If I'd asked a group of guys which of their dogs is more clingy, would they say the females? Hmmm. Just gotta find a Yorkie forum dominated by guys.

My boys are very clingy with me, mostly because they don't want to miss any opportunities for outings/activity. Teddy is equally clingy with grandpa, but Max is more likely to hang out in bed or watch the door when I am gone. Signed, Christobel (that is iPhone speak for Kristimo)

| Sapphire is more clingy with me... but she also refuses to miss a scrap or a meal. Her hearing is finely attuned to any food wrappings. She comes to me 6 or more times a day to be held or for a belly rub. She doesn't stay for long in my lap, maybe 5-10 minutes. She has man-fear, but is getting better with the DH, prefering to sneak up on him when he's in bed, lol. IDK, my 3 girls and my boy do seek attention from both me and my DH, I can't say equally bc I am home more than DH. Also bc my boy is ancient he has been more contented with napping, but in his younger years I would say showed relatively equal attention to us both. Hard comparison...

| The sex of any dog, especially yorkies, doesn't mean they will be more clingy or not! It's all about how they are raised and treated! |

| I can't vote because I only have experience with one....but I can't imagine another dog that clings more than Copper. He needs to be in the same room with me all the time. When I'm gone, hubby says he goes up and sleeps on my side of the bed. He definitely a little love bug!

| I have a male and a female. My male is very clingy while my female is pretty independent. She likes me, but she loves her brother. I think if I didn't feed her, she really could live without me. My male however, I would be really concerned about him if I were to ever not be around for some reason...

| Well, my girl Little Genie Girl is so clingy, demanding, she follows me everywhere. She demands to be petted when she wants. When she wakes up she will come and get me up, too. If I didn't love her sooooo much... but she rules the house. Believe it. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family.

| Senior Yorkie Talker | Agree with kazzy Molly will cuddle on her terms only but since having pups is wanting more attention and cuddles bless her she has been through a lot in a short space of time. Merlin has always loved cuddles first to greet you in anything but a controlled way bless him and hates been left alone even for short spells. Milo is really clingy too wanting to be on your lap all the time. So would have to say boys |

| Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Met a couple walking their dogs at an outdoor mall yesterday. The husband was walking two boys and the wife was walking one girl. The girl walked right pass Stewie and myself, while both the 2 boys and Stewie stopped and started to sniff each other out. The owners and I also talked about how boys tend to be more playful and clingy, while girls are just way more aloof.

| I can't speak for boys but my Maddie loves me and has always been clingy to me, even when I first visited her at the breeders. The vet and vet techs also noted that she's very much a daddies girl, as she runs to me and reaches up for my shoulders when they come with needles and such :P

| I think I agree with this statement as my two girls grew up when I was working and so I was out of the house a lot but our little boy was born just before I retired so he is used to having me around . The girls are very cuddly and certainly want attention but the boy is VERY attached to me (too much). He has to have me in sight all the time infact one day he tried to jump out of the kitchen window (two stories up) because I was watering the garden without him. If he is alone in the house he has been known to howl. I didn't know yorkies did, but Pippo does. Will follow this discussion with interest. |
