				   | This is a hot topic.... and in an effort to help the breeders decide whether to dock the tails of their puppies (especially when they are too small to show or are only for pet)I thought a poll would help to see how many of you would buy a pet yorkie with an undocked tail. Please notice I am restricting this to a PET yorkie since I know show people would not buy an undocked yorkie expecting to show it. |

				   | I personally like the docked look but It would make a difference to me. The yorkie is a very beautiful breed of dog,,,,, tail or no tail.

				   | I love the docked look. I love my Tia's little nubby tail -- it's so precious. I would only buy a Yorkie w/ a docked tail.

				   | My baby has a docked tail it looks so cute. But If I had to do it again NO ! I think it causes the puppy unnecessary pain.I didnt think of this when I got my pup from the breeder. |

				   | IMO i dont think that it really matters if your dog has a docked tail or not. I would buy a yorkie if it had 3 legs, as long as the dog is taken care of and you love it, it shouldnt matter what it looks like!

Many people out there are so use to seeing a yorkie with a docked tail that if they saw one with a full tail, they'd question it's purity. They may think it's a cute mixed breed dog. Are they stupid, no, but in the dark about what a yorkie would look like with a full tail. Then, you'd have people coming on here saying how offended they were because someone questioned the pureness of their dog. I don't think there's anything wrong with a full tail. It's not for me but I'm not going to slam someone that has one.

				   | I like the look of a docked tail but if there was a puppy I wanted with an undocked tail I would get it.

				   | If I wanted a pet..or even a breed quality,I would not let a little thing like a tail prevent me from buying it. Unfortunately, a few stud client in Md did not dock litters an had a hard time placing their pups for a fair price. For some reason potential buyers looked at it as a opportunity to get a ver cheap puppy..then have it's tail docked..which I am not in favor of..if it is there, leave it alone. |

				   | well I see a dead horse has been given mouth to mouth and survives, I only hope its not a long, slow death. This topic has been beat to death over and over and over again. A poll will NOT influence responsible breeders NOT to dock tails. This has been stated repeatedly, as long as AKC standard calls for tail docking it will be done! Pet quality or show quality makes no difference, a well bred Yorkie should be the best example of the breed standard!

				   | Laila has a docked tail, and it is adorable. This is my first Yorkie and I have never breed them, I didn't even realize they 'docked' the tails. I thought they just came short? I am very well educated on Yorkies now, but the tail thing I didn't realize. I would have preferred a long tail if given the choice to make, I always prefer things that are unaltered and natural. I keep Laila's tail hair long in order to make her tail appear longer... all my friends love her fluffy little tail. I would only prefer the undocked not to put them through the unnecessary pain of surgery. Does anyone have a picture of a Yorkie with an undocked tail to show us?
