What is insulting, is having someone repeately stating they "know" this or that which gives people a false impression, that you actually "know" these people well enough to say that their breeding of tinies is "ok" when in reality you only talked to them on the phone once or twice, you have not seen their breeding areas, ect.... and really are only basing your impression based on a phone call, with someone you have not even seen- which is not really creditable. Have you asked them any of the concerns that the reproductive vet brought up, or any other vet that has been asked brought up? I have to agree with Sherry lyn that the best conclusion I can come up with at this point is you are thinking of breeding your little ones, no matter how much you say you are not going to, continually bringing up this subject, and beating it to death seems to say you have an alterior motive. Actions speak louder than words, is what I tell my kids-- here the actions are also speaking louder than words. It is your perogitive to do what you wish with your dogs, but I don't think that you will change anyones mind here, that breeding tinies is ok- just like we are not going to change your minds that breeding tinies isn't ok. Although I could be wrong- it won't be the first or last time. But you are the only one who is not taking the statements from the vets asked, the breeders who remarked- as enough "advice" or "knowledge" that breeding tiny yorkies is not what is in the dogs best interest... it is not safe or healthy for them. |

If it walks like a duck and QUACKS like a duck, well, it's probably a duck!!! Once again, this is just my personal opinion and is not directed at anyone in particular! |

You only have to LOOK at a 2 lb or 3 lb dog to see that it is too tiny for breeding - COMMON SENSE. You only have to HOLD a 2 lb or 3 lb dog to realize that it is far too petite and tiny for breeding - COMMON SENSE. You only have to find out that a dog is 2 lbs or 3 lbs to know that it is inhumane (in my opinion) to breed - COMMON SENSE. Why is it ok to subject a tiny (under 5 lbs) female to c-sections? This doesn't make sense to me. No loving, caring breeder (who is not breeding for PROFIT) would ever consider this. I applaud all the GOOD breeders who breed for standard, health and their pets SAFETY first and foremost.    |
Jennifer...Thank you - great post ...with all these long posts - it's very easy to lose the whole point of this Poll - and I think most all agree - there really shouldn't BE a debate over breeding tinies. Sherry Lynn - your rep is just fine - We all know you to be a VERY Caring person and you too are looking out for these little ones - just as we all are. Being honest or direct is NOT a fault...I personally love your posts - you're always good for a laugh when it's needed too ...and that says alot about your character. Keep posting girl :) |

Nicely stated and point well made. :) :) :)   I just hope that is does not fall on deaf ears. |
tinies If ADMIN posted that, then why do they let people who breed 3 and 4 lb dogs advertise their puppies on this site? IMHO I don't think they should be allowed to advertise here on YT. It seems like it's being PROMOTED instead. And the fact that YTer's are buying the puppies is bad because we're supposed to be the most knowledgeable about yorkies. Maybe the word IS NOT getting out about what to look for in a breeder. Perhaps we should start a thread about that instead. I would say there SHOULDN'T'T be a debate about it, but the breeders of tinies are NOT defending their actions on this board, only Kim is, who isn't a breeder as of now. As long as people continue to subject their dogs to this PROFITABLE form of ANIMAL CRUELTY then this debate will continue. Someone has to speak up for the poor tiny dogs. I wouldn't be surprised if puppy millers and brokers have already caught on. Then it will be a 3 lb yorkie getting pregnant every cycle and having a "cheap" c-section. Quote:

You actually have a VERY GOOD Point ...I still remember that woman trying to sell her 1.7 TINY and charging 8 Thousand DOLLARS claiming she didn't breed for Tiny. Well - she lied. She WAS was breeding tinies and she came here saying she did NOT have him advertised anywhere else and only wanted him to go to a "Good" home ...i.e. a Yorkietalk member Sure she did :thumbdown We found him listed on Yahoo FREE CLASSIFIEDS for ANYONE to see or buy him - she only came here because she couldn't get the amount she listed him for..... which was INSANE |
