Bentley is 1.7 at 3 months..he is suppose to be around 4-5 pounds |
Got Lucy weighed last week at the vets, she is 3 years old and 4kg, which is about 8.8lb |
Niko has lost a couple of ounces. He is now 4lbs and 4days shy of 6 months. I have been giving him nutrical as a supplement. However, he eats alot but is super energetic. I still have to make him take time out. I was a little concerned about weight loss but I've been told they fluctuate during growing stage. |

my puppy at 6 weeks. question for you yorkie experts: My pup is about 2lbs now at 7weeks old. How big do you think she'll end up being? her dad was about 5lbs..and mom a little under 5lbs... is she going to be huge? |
Yeah, you'll have a big yorkie. Sheila was .7 pounds at that age and is now exactly 3 pounds at 6 1/2 months. |
how big do you think? 7lbs?? |
i'm no expert but i think your baby might get bigger than that. here's the 2 websites for the chart. http://home.comcast.net/~kkingpdx/puppygrowthchart.html http://yorkiepassion.com/growthchart.htm |
Jerry is 7.2 lbs right now....we need to get him down to about 5. I'm still shock over this, but we're changing his diet and making sure he gets more exercise...and yes he will do it !!!!! Michael |

i hear ya...it is really hard when they show you that look :D |
The weight issue again ;) Simon weighs 5 pounds but needs to gain weight and poor Halliebug weighs 6.2 and needs to lose ;( I have to buckle down per the vet on their diets! It's soooooo tough..... |
Gizmo is 11 pounds of love thank you. |
Jeremiah is 6months and weighs 6 pounds and 1/25. He won't be a single oz over 7. |
Chloe weighs 2.1 pounds at her 8-week checkup. She is a little butterball. Fat little tummy. The vet estimates she will be about 5 pounds full grown. Does that seem right? I heard you have to triple it by 8 weeks to get an estimate. Her mom weighed 3.5 and her dad weighed only 3. So, it looks like she will be bigger than her parents. She was the biggest of the 3 puppies. Chloe was 5 ounces bigger than her sister at her checkup. The male was the runt of the litter. Chloe has a really good appetite, but we are not overfeeding her. She eats Science Diet Puppy bites and she gets 3 small feedings a day. We are going by exactly what the vet says. I love her to pieces no matter what size she gets. |

Grown Weight? We picked up our new puppy Lex on Thursday night. I took him to the vet Yesterday and at four months of age he weighs in at 4 lbs. The breeder said he should be about six or seven and the vet agreed with her. Let's see. Even though he weighs that much he seems smaller. I think you enter into a crap shoot because that one big boy fatty recessive gene can pop up...lol. I guess that no matter what whether they are fat, skinny or whatever we love them anyhow. The vet did say that they tend to stop growing at a year. Normally at six months or so the weight gains slows down and being at around a year you change the food to an adult food they will get less fat so they should maintain their weight at that point. Thor is 11lbs! WHew! He is all diesel! :) |
not sure what she will be grown... snickers at 13wks weighed 3lbs.... and 14wks they said 4? so she is somewhere in between i am guessing... originally i was told they double thier 12wk wieght putting her at 6lbs but maybe now its closer to 7 for full grown? i am not really sure when they "stop growing/gaining" so you can gage what they will be |
We just received our new baby boy a couple days ago, his name is Fabio. He is 11 weeks old and weights 21 ounces. He should be between 3- 31/2 lbs fully grown. He comes from a pedigree of small yorkies and has numerous champions in his pedigree. I am hoping he will be a good stud. Will just have to wait and see. He comes from the Pastoral line. Anyone else have Pastoral babies? if so, are you pleased with the line? |
Grown Weight Holy Moly you said he is 21 ounces. Can you post a picture of him. He sounds like he is he size of a dust bunny. :aimeeyork |
Mojo is currently 4.5lbs. (give or take) - His weight seems to be different each time we weigh him. - not by much though. Breeder said he would be 4-5 lbs, so he is right where he should be. :) |

Size matters? My baby Petey is 7 lbs. My parent's dog Rosie is 8lbs and Rocky is a HUGE 21lbs.. now tell me what happened there? He's NOT fat either :animal36 he's the smartest dog I've ever seen though. And he gives great yorkie kisses. :animal36 Kimberly in NC |
AKC standards On the AKC website, I noticed - it used to say the standard weight is between 4-7 lbs.. but it doesn't say that anymore!! All it says is "up to 7 lbs." I just noticed that recently and I think its very interesting. |
Ginger’s at 4.6 lbs and hasn’t grown since October, so I think she’s done. Her Mom was 7lbs and she wasn’t the runt so I thought she’d get bigger. I think she’s perfect. :) |
Lil Bear varies...she's 7yrs....her winter weight is 6.5 or 7 lbs, summer weight is 5.5 to 6.5 lbs. Moose is a little over a year and weighs 8.2lbs as of 2 weeks ago. The breeder said maybe she would top off at 10lbs. Michelle |
Chloe is now 14 weeks old. At her 12-week checkup, she still weighed 2.1 pounds. The exact same weight at her 8-week checkup. So, in a month, she has not gained any weight at all, not even an ounce. Her appetite is great and she always finishes her food. I think it is because she is so active, plus she comes from very tiny parents. |
