| I've been using Revolution for about 10 yrs now without a problem. even so my girls are not the out doorsie type my DH flies rc helicopters and airplanes and is alway outside and has been know to bring home a tick or two . As a Vet tech I've seen to many babies have to go through treatment for HW and it's so hard on them not to mention how expensive it is. Even if treated they may not survive. The treatment can kill them. So why take a chance.

| There are many studies out there that show Revolution is #1 in adverse reactions (however, this could be because it is most widely used, thus WOULD have the highest number of reactions just based on numbers alone)- i think because it is topical- you are putting a chemical right on their bodies that will seep into their blood stream. With Interceptor it is oral- something they chew. Also Revolution is for fleas and ticks and heartworm. too many meds in my opinon, interceptor is JUST heartworm. |

| We are in GA so, I use Interceptor for my babies. I also use it year round because with us being in the south you just never know. As I found out the hardway. While my dad was sick I missed in the winter now one maybe 2 doses of interceptor with our lab and she has heartworms but because of her age we opted to with vets ok to have a heartworm test every year and keep giving her the interceptor which this was 5 years ago now and she has never missed a step. The reason we opted not to do the treatment on her was several factors her age and several vets telling us that they could not guarantee a 100% kill rate of the heartworms and that with her age she may not recover from it. The vet is shocked every time I bring her in for her yearly heartworm test. What I was told is that the pills keep them from growing and getting bigger. I don't know if that is correct or not. The treatment is also very costly. I'm sure I'm going to get plently of comments positive and negative. Just to let you know this decision was not reached lightly. My lab is still going strong at 13 years old and is healthy otherwise. She just went to the vet and he said that her heart still sounds very healthy. The only concern he had was a fatty tissue cyst on her lower back. Please before you post don't judge too harshly. It was also based on the money which would be well over $1000. Thanks for reading.

| Do you like the Confortis. I'm considering switching mine after I use up my current supply of frontline. I use to use the Program pill for my Shih Tzu and I was very happy with it. I really like the idea of giving them a pill instead of putting pesticides on their backs.

i haven't heard this problem with revolution but i have heard that it sucks for tick preventative. I've been using it on my cat for the past 8 years with no problems, but he's not an outside cat. he only goes out in our patio once and a while or outside on a leash.
