| Senior Yorkie Talker | I got Tara from classifieds adds. The family owned both of the yorkies (mum and dad), therefore I have seen both of the parents. They seemed to be looking well after the pups and taught their kids to be gentle with them. When we first saw Tara she was the smallest one of them all and there was only 3 puppies left to choose from. Tara is the first I picked up she had a white hair on her right back paw, so we took her, it was a sign since they all look very much the same. I just knew I wanted a girl. She was only 4 weeks old when we first saw her. I was so excited and had hard time to wait for her another two and half weeks. I have very good experience, we got our baby picture and that we have paid a deposit. When we went to pick up Tara, the owner said she was her favourite, because she was playing and very lively pup. She was a good choice, we love her to bits and she is all well. The lady however said it was last time for her dog to have pups as they were having her fixed. So it seems she only had one or two litters. But I would buy from her again.

| YT 2000 Club Member | All of my dogs came from local small breeders. I seen all of the houses they came from and thier parents. After all the reading Ive done on this board I can honestly say that I will never purchase from anyone over the internet or from anyone that isnt close enough to home for me to visit.

| We adopted our 4 yorkies from rescue groups in the Melbourne FL area. Annie was adopted (11/93) from the Save a Pet no kill shelter group located north of Chicago. |

| Matty and Kalina both came from the same breeder. I had such a great experience with Kalina that I went back to her for Matty. If I ever get another Yorkie it will be from the same breeder again - both my girls have the most fantastic temperament and get along with both other dogs and people and have no health issues; those are the two most important factors for me. I found my breeder through another breeder, so it was a referral.

| I got Baron from a Breeder who lives 5 minutes from my home. He was 1 of a litter of 5 males. I had wanted a female. I thought I'd go talk to the breeder and learn what to look for in a puppy. I had made up my mind that I wanted a larger Yorkie. She had 2 very small and 3 larger ones. Baron kept running up to me with his little tongue hanging out. I couldn't resist. The breeder said he rarely barked would be 6-7 pounds full grown. Both turned out to be true. She also said he was pad trained @ 6 months- NOT TRUE!! I just keep trying, Someday he will be.... All in all it was a very nice and easy experience. We were @ her home for 2 1/2 hours. We met the mother and Gr.mother of the pups. She showed us a pic and the father's pedigree. She answered all my ??'s too! I have recommended her to people looking for a breeder in the PA. area.. ![]()

| Ok..this is how it happened. I took my sisters and mom to the dentists, I had been wanting to get a dog but my mom always said NO!. We had a basset hound and after he died we promised we'd never have a dog again =[. Well, as my sisters and mom went in the dentists office, I saw a pet store, "super kennels" to be exact. As soon as I walked in I saw all these little puppies playing around. I had no knowledge about puppy mills and stuff but saw that they took really good care of their puppies since they all looked so happy but there was one that caught my eye ). Louis was sitting there just looking at me, not barking not moving, only his little tail and he was staringgggg! His brother was on the left, jumping around , etc. The lady asked me if I wanted to carry louis , I was like YESSSSSS! AS SOON AS she gave it to me, I fell in love .I've had him for a month and I simply love him, he's so sweet. He's healthy as can be, he loves other dogs , he loves to play and he's not the annoying type of puppy( not harm meant to anyone, but I've seen some yorkies which are beyond hypperness. I guess they're all different). He's like a little boy and he loves it when little kids come and play . I.e: my sisters. && he LOVES to sleep, LOl. Even my bf who likes bigger dogs , not "sissy" dogs as he calls them ¬.¬GRRR . I HATE WHEN HE CALLED YORKIES SISSIS. UGH...Well, now he LOVES louis . I'm just very happy he's a healthy boy since I've heard so many stories about people buying sick puppies from pet stores. Ahh I love louis

| We bought Ryle online and came to find out it was from one of the worst puppy mills ever!!(yorkiepuppies.com Jeff Dane) He was flown to us sick and nearly dead, of course we were very un-educated then. Which is how I came upon YT, we were always online looking for answers for our sick pup. |

| I got Laci from a BYB, I didnt know any better , however she is a great puppy , healthy and has the cutest little face I have ever seen. If I could buy another one that looks just like her I would in a minute......just not from the same place. I am very lucky that she is healthy and well adjusted.

| I got my Yorky from a pet store. Did I know better, yes I did. I was researching, about getting a show quality dog. But my hubby didn't really want a house dog, so I had to wait until the time was right. Then our outside border collie got cancer and died, the following month, my father died unexpectedly, then another month passed and my very favorite cat died. I got very depressed, I quit my job. In the mean time, I would go to the town 20 minutes from us and go pet the puppies at the pet store. The first week that I met her, I would never have gotten her, but I went again the next week and fell in love with the same puppy I had rejected the week before. I am not sure why, but I think, she was just meant to be mine. She is a happy go lucky dog, loves everyone, even cats! I'm glad I got her. She has been hard to house train, and I belive it is exactly because she was in a pet store for so long as they allow the puppies to eliminate in their little areas on towels and carpet pieces and they learn that this is acceptable to do at a young age. They should put a box of grass in there for them, it would help a lot! I am extremely happy with her and though I don't like the history behind pet stores, I am glad I found my Abby. |

| I put other because I got Chip from a broker. It was a horrible experience. They lied about Chip's age (he was 7 weeks instead of 8), they told us he was eating dry food and he couldn't even chew and ended up almost dying from hypoglycemia, he's got temperment problems from not being socialized properly under their car, and he's got a list of health problems. Smokey I got from a rescue so I can't comment a whole lot, but he came from a puppy mill in southern VA. When he came to us he had severe anxiety. He's way over standard size (14 lbs, really tall and really long), floppy eared, and way off the color scale, but is as sweet as can be.

| I got my Miley fr a small breeder found in a newspapers ad ! Visited him at home, he had a few yorkie he bred. I was able to see his finish basement, where he keep the dog that had puppies, I also walk around his whole house and in the yard every thing was super clean and in order. I picked Miley, she was being chase in a corner by her sister. Best thing I did for myself and Miley , She is God send. My ex husband also brought a male from the same breeder a year later , but different parents. After He lost his job, got sick and lost his home and his legs, I took them both in for a 1 1/2 yr , when he got on SS he ask me to keep Max , by than Max was my anyway he love me so much would follow me every where and also wanted to b with me anyway. So we visited My Ex and he get to see them every week. The breeder was very good in answering all my questions, we had always brought all my dogs fr breeder before. Before I got a Yorkie, we went to the Dog show in Chicago 2 years in a roll and talk to all the different Yorkie owners we can find ask all kind of questions. I have both set of parents pedigree. But now I think I would love to get a yorkie that needs to b rescue and a forever home . I'm keeping my eyes open for one. I have the room and the time and lots of love.Very happy with my furbabies xxxxooo. bark@ulater! manina, miley ,maxLast edited by manina; 08-12-2009 at 05:01 PM. |
