I got my Yorky from a pet store. Did I know better, yes I did. I was researching, about getting a show quality dog. But my hubby didn't really want a house dog, so I had to wait until the time was right.
Then our outside border collie got cancer and died, the following month, my father died unexpectedly, then another month passed and my very favorite cat died. I got very depressed, I quit my job. In the mean time, I would go to the town 20 minutes from us and go pet the puppies at the pet store. The first week that I met her, I would never have gotten her, but I went again the next week and fell in love with the same puppy I had rejected the week before. I am not sure why, but I think, she was just meant to be mine.
She is a happy go lucky dog, loves everyone, even cats! I'm glad I got her. She has been hard to house train, and I belive it is exactly because she was in a pet store for so long as they allow the puppies to eliminate in their little areas on towels and carpet pieces and they learn that this is acceptable to do at a young age. They should put a box of grass in there for them, it would help a lot!
I am extremely happy with her and though I don't like the history behind pet stores, I am glad I found my Abby.
