DJ-250, Harley D-free, Zeke-free, Zack-350, Zoey-400 (JB paid not me:D) and Zipp(Spike from the rescue forum)-25. Actually Zipp cost 325, 300 for our airfare from Melbourne FL to Columbus OH and back but the old guy is worth every dollar. |

Prince Henry was $600 and AKC registered. He will be 8 months on 4/16 and he weighs 3.2 lbs. Queen Elizabeth or "Izzy" was $650 and AKC registered as well. She will be 4 mo on 4/28 and weighs 1.9 lbs. |
This thread makes me chuckle. Not the prices that have been pd, they are def worth it. But many have complained about people asking them how much was paid for thier yorkie, but we continue to have threads answering this very question. I know we are all a family on here but it seems to me that other people are just as interested as ones on here. Not trying to stir up trouble. Does anyone else see a little irony in this? |
I paid $1,000 for my Chloe she is akc too! |
I paid 1000.00 for Bella. She is AKC and she does have champions in her blood line. It does not matter to me. I would still love her even if she didn't! |
2k. Champs on both dam & sire and grands, etc. AKC. Super reputable breeder... (I don't mind answering the question, it doesn't seem like TMI) |
The cost also depends on where you're buying your dog from. It seems in the midwest they're less expensive. I've also noticed many dogs on the internet that are less expensive but don't come with a full registration or are lacking in other areas such as health certificate. A friend of mine recently bought a little Yorkie for $350 but she's going to be a bigger Yorkie judging by the size of her compared to mine and was sold WAY TO YOUNG (6-8 weeks). My dogs were considerably more expensive but worth not having the heartache of dealing with a sick baby. |
Whatever we paif for Maxine 13 years ago was not enough for the joy she has brought us. The real expense comes after the purchase.....Fence, food, health care, spay, teeth, illnesses, cloths, paying for babysitters, training, etc. |
What did you pay for your Yorkie I paid $1500 and now I'm thinking about Yorkie Rescue or Pet adoption: Want a dog or cat? Adopt a pet on Petfinder to get a companion Yorkie. :animal-pa |
Princess was $550, with limited registration...but I never registered her, figured the money could go toward all the things she loves in life...mini tennis balls and treats! ;) I didn't plan on showing her, and I baby her too much to ever consider breeding her (among many other reasons!) ;) |
Tibbe was a rescue costing $300.00 and I got him from Jilly's breeder who had him because he'd been sort of dumped on her with some other Yorkies by a breeder who had many, many issues, shall we say. He was almost feral after spending 9 mos. in a crate and he has some problems, one of which is fear of loud or sudden noises, which is diminishing with time. Other than that, he is loving, feisty, smart, involved, healthy and absolutely perfect to me - and the vet agrees. Truth is, I would have written a check for just about any amount once I got him in my arms that day back in May, 2008. |
I love this poll but the price most paid is way lower than I would have thought. I called Yorkie sellers here in the D/FW area from word-of-mouth, internet, vet-referral and the newspaper back in '07/'08 B4 I found out about Tibbe and many, many breeders' females were selling for $2,500.00 - $3,000.00 with a health certificate and AKC papers. Show breeders in the area charged more than that. Backyard breeders were in the $700.00 - $1,000.00 range - all for females, which is what I was looking for at the time. |
Before you get them you worry about the price, but once they steal your heart you realize their love is priceless! |
I paid $600.00 for Sammy in 1998. To me he's worth a million dollars!!:) |
