How much did you pay for your yorkie? I'm curious as to how much everyone spent for their yorkies. If you have mulitples you can pick more than one. |
Wayyyy over $1800!! |
I think this would be more interesting if the survey was broken down into groups of AKC registration, and show quality, and mix... I can see paying more for AKC and even more than that for show quality, etc... |
lexi was 2000.00 worth every penny of it.. |
I have one that I got from my neighbor when he bred his, they were AKC registered and he sold them for 800, he charged me 400 because we were neighbors. And the other one that I might be getting is a female for 850 that is AKC registered |
Nina was over $2,000--AKC and from champion bloodlines, health guarantee. :) Tigger -$600--no papers bought from hubby's friend at work from a second litter of theirs he weighs 13 lbs, big underbite, not standard at all but is the sweetest thing. Nikki (rest in peace). $1700--backyard breeder, genetic malformation, no papers given, health guarantee (but not honored when she died), short coarse fur. |
$800 for Stedman (male) and $2500 for Tatum (female from show breeder w/ champion lines). |
Tyava's Out of Oz, Toto was bought from Ava Tyree, Tyava Yorkies in Marietta, GA. She breeds show Yorkies and Toto came from a long line of Champions. She is AKC registered, because we could, and I have never told anyone what we paid for her. I can tell you this, however, if we bought her today, we would pay ten times again what we paid! She is our joy! ;) |
Mine is one of the two current under $500. Abbey was $400. She came with papers, tail docked, health certificate!! She is perfect and I am lucky to have found her. She is currently at 5 months and 3 pounds and the love of my life!! |
I had previously posted that I thought I'd payed $650 for Rudy. Well, I was cleaning out some papers this past week and saw the original receipt for him. ( that sounded weird to say it that say ) anyway, it was $800.00 I had put $150 deposit on him and don't know why I forgot about paying the deposit. Like other's have said, he is worth every penny of that. :):aimeeyork:thumbup: |
I paid $1000 for Meeka, she is AKC registered and is 5.5 pounds. Health Guarantee I paid $900 for Bella, she is AKC registered and 4 pounds with Health Guarantee I paid $800 for Zoey (She is flying to me on sunday) and she is estimated to be 5 to 6 pounds and is AKC registered! With health guarantee All of these amounts are for my actually cost of buying the puppy. I paid between $200-$300 more for each puppy to be shipped to me. |
I got shakespeare for $2G , Shades $400 and zoey for $800. I was desperate when I got shakespeare. :( but he is worth every penny and can't live without them. |
pay for yorkie If you want quality yorkies you really pay a lot more for them. If you want a wonderful pet you can pay much less for them. It just all depends on what you want:rolleyes::aimeeyork |
Do you admit the full price? Or not. Well, this was a interesting Poll. I don't know very many people that like to admit how much they spend on something. Whether it be a pet, a house, a car or even a outfit. We even like to hide things, like prices from or spouses. Shh! I'm still in the process of bringing home my little Ms. LeiLani. She's coming from a Champion Bloodline Breeder, with a Health Guarantee and I chose a Show Breeder. I did this for many reasons. I've been looking for her for 1-1/2 years and then I talked to my Breeder for many... many... months. I had looked at a Yorkie for $350.00 and one for $700.00 and another one for $1500.00 but decide against them all. And this was because I was not happy as to why they had decide to breed their pet. $Money$ So I then started talking to Show Breeders. Until I found one that I liked and she needed to like me also. Just because she come from a Show Breeder it doesn't change why I wanted her. Pure  Love and that's hard to put a price on. Originally LeiLani was going to be my Breeder's Show Dog but she was willing to sell her to me as a "House Pet". She liked why I waited for so long before I decided on a Yorkie and she liked me. I didn't just snatch up the first one I saw. This is what I believe starts "Puppy Mills". I paid "OVER $1800.00" for her. See! Even I can't admit the full price I paid for her. :p I don't mind spending the money... as long as I know I will not be contributing to any more unwanted animals or destroying her bloodline. |

I won't say exactly what I paid, but I will do it like this: Mine ranged from $500 to $1800...:);) |
:p Mica was $2, 000.00 and from strong champion bloodlines, both parents were American/Canadian Champions. Kali was $1,900.00 and both parents were Canadian Champions with strong champion blood lines in both of their pedigrees. Both came with a certified pedigree, CKC papers, and two year health guarantees. We love them both.... |
Slade was a rescue, so he was less than $500 |
My Cordell was free.... his other human Mommy had passed away and her daughter had a friend keeping Cordy and his brother in a crate. My husband found out about the boys and begged for the boys to not be kept in a crate and saved for months on end (I think it was 3 months) until they finally relented. We were blessed with Cordy and my MIL was blessed with his brother, TJ. DH thought he was going to have to pay for Cordy, but when he didn't, he let me buy Cordy some things with the money! |
I luckily found my girl for sale outside of Starbuck & she was $400.00. There's no papers, she is beautiful! We call her the giant yorkie at 9 lbs. Going on 4years old this month!! :) |
Price! I paid about 600 for Cookie. BUT we knew the breeders very well, and Cookie was suspect to have a hernia(which turns out she didnt), so our breeder took off $100, as well as kept a health guarantee with us. Cookie isn't AKC certified, I haven't even bothered with the papers.. I really don't care to be honest, I'm not planning on showing her:) But I am confident in her bloodline. My mom paid 800-900 for Boo Boo, our Yorkie who passed in 2001, she was AKC, (but she bought her in 1987 LOL) She probably would've cost much more now'days |
... 800 to 1100 ..... |
Tucker was $895. Our first yorkie, Bandit was $2300. |
Price Of Yorkshire Terrier We paid $ 1000.00 for our cutie! We live in Canada and found the breeder through an advertisement. Her sire is a champion .. not too sure if the damn has any in her.. but because of a small underbite,so was considered pet stoc k, so we got her for this price. We purchased and brought her home in early April, yet to date have not received her papers .. which the breeder said she was going to submit. I just sent her an email saying that they had missed a dew claw and that I was honoring my part of the contract to have her spayed... sure hope I will get my papers! But, registered or not .. we just love her to bits!! :) |
I have Lucy's purchase info up above. I got Pebbles for a rehome fee of $125.00 & already fixed :). No papers on her - mixed yorkie/doxie. Now I have 2 gaint Yorkies-10 & 9 lbs, love both girls yes indeed!! |
Carson was $650 AKC 5.5 lbs (supposed to be $750 but supposedly she "forgot' to dock his litters tails  which is fine with me because I like his little tail) Bailey was $800 AKC 3 lbs at 6 months :) |
Gypsy is AKC registered and cost 650.00. |
