Just thinking here..if you are researching cameras.
I would seriously consider getting one that has a rechargable lithium ion battery (and recharger) with it. I can take literally hundreds and hundreds of pictures with the ones I have in my Canon cameras. Full recharge time from drained is approximately 20 minutes.
If you live where it is cold or use flash or viewfinder or take many video clips..batteries can be drained in no time....just a thought...

I'm a photographer and I use a Canon XS110 IS point and shoot for a LOT of the photos I take. I resort to it a lot when I dont want to carry my DSLR around. I really do reccomend it. You can purchase it for about $250.00. Best P&S I've ever owned!

Thanks for everyone's input! I actually got today a Panasonic Linux ZS3. Compared to my old sony cybershot (5.1MP!) this camera is awesome! I took some test shots with Uni in low light and vid, far superior to what I had! so far so good!
