It is all very confusing lol It get's a little better when you have the camera I've learned A LOT but just playing around with it. I would watch videos & be like HUH? Now that i have the camera a lot makes more sense. Still very confused on a lot of thing's Tho. lol

The word sounds to me like the southern pronunciationword for "Bxxx Sxxx".:eyetearss

Oh, I hope you're right! Some things are starting to sink in the more I read, and Ann has been awesome with her explanations & research. But, I think it will mean more and become clearer once I get the camera and work with it. I can't wait - I'm starting to get impatient! :D

OK...I have a question. The D90 has a motor in the body, the D60 does not....do the lenses with the motors in them cost more? Would it make $$$ sense to get the motor in the body straightaway...or is a initial $$ outlay thing?
My head is spinning & I just put a camera on my Christmas list!:p However! I first have to learn how to post pictures! ...pitiful, I know!

Yes, the lenses with motors cost much more. With the D90 you can buy the less expensive lenses and they will still be able to autofocus because of the motor in the camera body. Or, you can use the less expensive lenses in the D60 and just focus manually.

I'm still in the early learning stages, so I'll let the more educated members answer the rest of you questions.

Are you wanting to have video capabilities? The D60 doesn't have that but the D90 does.

I have another question....

One thing the guy at BB told me I needed was a fast memory card in order to not get a delay in picture taking. And he recommended I buy this one:

SanDisk Extreme SDHC Card
up to 30 MB/s* - 200x
8 GB


Did I need this?

I use a regular SD you can get them for like $20 I really don't think there is a difference in them I think it's the camera & lens that make the speed.

Breny, finally found this thread LOL. This is a great thread where we can all share as we learn. I just got the Canon T1i and love it. The whole lens thing is very confusing to me too. So far I've only taken a few close ups, but tomorrow I am off work and plan to have a camera day!!! Hope to get some good outside shots. I think my next purchase will be an external flash although I really want a 50mm prime lens. Trying to stay within a budget considering I don't really know how to use all the features of the camera yet...here's a couple of shots that I took.

Yorkiepaws, maybe you can help me out with my camera. I just got the T1i too and I think we're the only ones on YT that have that model so far. I just had a chance to play with mine over the weekend and I LOVE it! I can't believe the quality of the pictures. I will post some soon, still trying to figure it all out though.

Maybe we can learn together. I too am still trying to figure it all out. So far I have used automatic mode, sports mode and AV mode. Av is great for close ups. It really blurs the background if you use a small aperture setting. I too love the quality of the pictures. The colors are amazing.

I've studied this thread almost as much as I've studied a pedigree.. LOL
Ok.. I bought the Nikon D90, with the kit lens. I've ordered but not received the SB400 flash, the 50 mm lens, and the 55-200 lens.
Now I need a good, (yet user friendly.. kinda for dummies if you get my drift) photo editing program. Any ideas?
