| No Longer a Member | Start with room temperature eggs. In fact, it is best to have eggs that are not super fresh. Buy them a few days before (ok, so we're getting low on the 'days before' lol). Then on the day of, take them out of the fridge and let them set on the counter for several hours. This is _supposed_ to make them be easier to peel later on. Anyway, place one layer of eggs in a pot, and cover with 3 inches of cold water. Bring to a boil. As soon as the water comes to a full boil, turn off the heat, cover with a tight fitting lid, and allow to set for 22 minutes. Set your timer! After the time is up, fill the pot with cold water in the sink, allowing it to overflow until it is replaced completely with cold water. Empty about half off, and add lots of ice cubes to the pot--add them gently so you don't crack the eggs. Allow to set for 15 minutes to cool. |

| I know by now, the eggs are done. I hope they turned out. The most perfect eggs is, put about a tablespoon of baking soda in a pan, add your eggs(single layer), cold water to cover about 1 inch to 2 inches over the egg. If the egg floats, throw it out as it means it's a bad egg. Then leave uncovered and get to boiling on high. Watch the pan carefully. As soon as the eggs start boiling, remove from the burner and cover, set timer for 15 minutes. Then uncover, dump the hot water out and add cold water and some ice cubes. Leave the eggs in the water until cold, then you can color them or refrigerate them. You can put a pin hole in the big end of the egg to keep it from cracking, and you can also add a little bit of vinegar to the water to keep the egg from having all the white coming out if it does crack(won't crack though if you put the pin hole in). Hope since I doubt this will help now, that it will help in the future. |
