| Cream of " _____ " soups, have you made them? I have recently started making my own "cream of" soups for recipes instead of the salty fat laden Campbell's variety ~ and I'm in LOVE!! I always have the ingredients on hand, it takes me 5 minutes and they taste amazing Anyone else tried it? Ingredients are: Butter Flour Milk Water Salt Pepper ______ (whatever the "of"is ) I have also used chicken stock in place of the milk and water!

Lately, tho, I'm replicating (or improving upon ) Campbell's soups to use in recipes that call for " a can of cream of mushroom soup" or whatever. I've shied away from them because of fat and sodium and general uckyness (wait ~ is that really how you spell shy _ ed??)

YT 2000 Club Member | The only canned soups I use are cream of chicken & cream of mushroom in my recipes. My "real" soups are always from scratch

| I do love a "proper" cream of mushroom soup ( meaning too nice for a recipe addition) and I make a GREAT rendition if I do say so myself

| I love making soups but what is a new revelation to me is that I can not use "the red can" in recipes calling for "cream of......." Making my own cream of chicken and cream of mushroom and cream of celery etc is easier than I ever dreamed

| Oh yes! And with the warm/hot weather coming up I love making vichychoisse (cold leek & potato soup). Nothing cools me down better, and adding home grown chives.... yumm!
