| I like my french toast "stuffed." Take two slices of bread, and spread a little cream cheese on each one, then some sliced bananas or polaner all fruit jam, then close up like a sandwich. Dip in batter and brown in the pan. Yum!

| When I make French Toast I use eggs, milk, vanilla and cinnamon for the dip...I toast the bread first so it doesn't get soggy...dip it in the egg mixture and then brown it on the griddle on top of the stove. To serve it I butter each slice and then layer the plate with a piece of FT, an egg cooked over medium, FT and one last egg on top...then it gets covered with maple syrup. Maybe I should try a different kind of bread or something? I usually just use white or wheat. |

4 thick slices hawaaian bread 4 large eggs 1/2 C milk 1/2 tsp vanilla 1/4 tsp cinnamon butter for frying maple syrup we coat each pc of bread and fry on our griddle. We warm up the syrup in the microwave. Top the french toast with sliced bananas and almond slivers then top with warm syrup If you want to be a little different you can mush the bananas up and stuff the bread with the bananas then fry it also it turns out good that way too. Peaches with french toast is good too

| Savory is MY style!!! Parmigiano Reggiano Savoury French Toast from Closet Cooking (makes 2 servings) Ingredients: 1 cup milk 1 egg salt and pepper to taste 4 slices of bread (cut 1 inch thick) 1/2 cup parmigiano reggiano (grated) Directions: 1. Mix the milk, egg, salt and pepper in a wide, shallow dish. 2. Dip the bread in the egg mixture to coat on both sides. 3. Melt a touch of butter in a pan and fry the bread until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side. 4. Sprinkle the parmigiano reggiano over the french toast. (The french toast should still be warm enough that the cheese melts. Otherwise you can place it under the broiler for a few seconds to melt the cheese.) Closet Cooking: Parmigiano Reggiano Savoury French Toast
