Maybe I should try a different kind of bread or something? I usually just use white or wheat.
thats what we use but we use Hawaiian bread. Texas toast and sour dough bread are good too. Heres the recipe

4 thick slices hawaaian bread
4 large eggs
1/2 C milk
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp cinnamon
butter for frying
maple syrup

we coat each pc of bread and fry on our griddle. We warm up the syrup in the microwave. Top the french toast with sliced bananas and almond slivers then top with warm syrup

If you want to be a little different you can mush the bananas up and stuff the bread with the bananas then fry it also it turns out good that way too. Peaches with french toast is good too
