| Most overrated meal you've had This is a rant thread for your hard earned money spent on a crap meal that supposedly was sooooo goood. Last week, last year, last decade? Whatever. I hold grudges. Let us YTer's know. I'll go first. Duh. 1998. Matsuhisa. Beverly Hills. $120+ (1998 prices remember) and I was 18 at the time. We had reservations for months. We got sat in the corner. We got served warm sushi rice. Oh how it sucked. Never again.

| I dont care if I do live in TX,I am not and will not eat menudo. Most overpriced and underwhelming meal. There is a restaurant here called Bonnells,I have friends that love this place. The decor was crowded, the service lacked, the food was only ok (S.Western) and the price was twice what you would pay at DelFriscos downtown. That was three or more years ago. I might be convinced to try it again but someone else is going to have to want to go there first. |

| The area that I live is pretty busy in the summer as it's on the way to the beach. We have a small area that is filled with some pretty decent seafood restaurants. Well, one night hubby and I decided to treat ourselves and headed over the one of the more expensive ones. Well some $70.00 later, we were so disappointed cause the champagne sauced fish was terrible. And to add to the disappointment, we were served with paper plates and plastic utensils. We haven't been back since and that was probably 15 years ago.

| We ate at Wolfgang Puck's restaurant in Vegas. This was a late lunch type thing. I swear they gave us frozen fries w my lobster sandwich (one of the things he's known for and I wanted to try). The lobster meat was terrible. It was soggy, overcooked, no taste - yuck. Dh had one of his pizzas (another thing he is known for). It was ok but not worth the price or the hype. This was the first time we tried one of his restaurants and will not go back. Our fav little local "hole in the wall" has much better food.

| Oh my gosh! I went to a restaurant in Boston called Top of the Hub. Crazy, ridiculously expensive. I think I was only 21 at the time and my boyfriend was 24. We had NO money and saved for awhile and went for lunch instead of dinner. Well I ordered a glass of white zinfandel and they had NONE, they ran down to the corner market to buy a bottle and then charged us like $15 a glass or something. I felt like I sullied their 'wine selection' by adding white zin into it. Then I could not read the menu because the whole thing was in French. So I ended up ordering the special, which was some seafood dish. When it came out, it was a 1/2 a lobster tail with the shell on, a shrimp, with the shell on, 2 sea scallops and a tiny bit of TINY diced veggies. I was horrified. It was good, but we paid about $150 for the meal and hit up McDonalds about 5 mins later for some food because we were both still HUNGRY! ggeezzz for $55 a plate, you would think there would be FOOD on it!!! LOL I was so disappointed I never went back. This is about 14 years ago!

| Pinks in Hollywood. I went with my ex-bf a few years ago. Heard the hype about this place and decided we'd give it a try. We waited 2 hours in line for a hotdog that was mediocre at best. Such a let down.

| Five Guys. I thought it was going to be the best out of this world burger I have even eaten. Instead it was basically a salad bar with a niceish hamburger with it ( I guess I like to taste the burger more than all of the toppings!)

I did not care for Five Guys either! I hate they wrap them in foil, so it makes the buns soggy immediately.
