| Uni is sea urchin roe. In Japanese it's called uni. I love uni so much that I named my yorkie after it, and Capt Noonie is a nick name for her. Noonie rhymes with uni. It's somewhat labeled for an "advanced" sushi eater. The first time I ate one I didn't know what it was, just that it tasted nutty and buttery, and melt-in-your-mouth good. Same with sashimi, first time I had it, I didn't know what it was, but that I liked it. Then my mom told me it was raw fish. Sushi Delicacies at Shogun - Part 1: Uni | Sushi Beginner If you look at the link there are pics of it in the shell and how it's served. FYI I would NEVER have an uni shooter! That's the equivalent of putting lemon, cocktail sauce, tabasco and salt and pepper on a raw oyster. A foodie SIN! LOL

| Garlic Balsamic Bistro Oil...YUM!! I just dip bread in it. I love all kinds of balsamic oils. I love sesame oils, chili oils, anything vinegary. I also prefer to use a very good olive oil. One of the best rated oils is actually an organic Kirkland brand EVOO. Anyone have a good recipe of a vinegar dressing?

I've actually never tried lengua either. But everyone that I know who has tried it says that if you don't tell the person what they are having...they would never know. They all loved it and a lot of them of finicky eaters. I think I need to have someone cook it as a stew for me.

| Yup. That's just proof that most of the time "gross" stuff isn't even gross, you just have to get over yourself and eat it. Eating the muscle of a dead animal is gross enough, so why is one part of the animal grosser than another? If we are to slaughter an animal for food, we may as well eat as much of it as we can. Waste nothing.
