| Well I live in Hawaii so it is more expensive for groceries here. For a family of 2 adults, 1 teen, 2 kiddies...we spend about 900 a month. Not including eating out...which we do about 2x a week. We do splurge on better cuts of steaks and some of the veggies are organic with costs more but is worth it. I do like to try different recipes so a lot of the time I have to buy ingredients that I won't normally have. T.V. is usually on FoodNetwork Channel.

| I just buy for me and dd and probably spend $150 every two weeks. She's 14 & loves to eat...and eat...and eat-yet stays a perfect size. I try to buy everything once or twice a month then only go back for something special or milk/bread, etc. The only meat I buy is boneless skinless chicken breast & ground chuck. Sometimes I'll get steaks for dd but I don't like them & we don't eat pork. I can eat the store brand of almost anything so that saves, too. Just not pb, pop, prego, ketchup... We do eat out a couple times a week or I'll stop by the store to pick up a skillet meal or something quick. I need to learn some new recipes as I'm pretty sick of what I know how to make.

| We probably spend $1,000 a month for 2 adults and one teenage son, my DH buys lots of snacks, and I cook almost everyday. Also we shop at Kroger and use our Kroger plus card to earn points to save money on gas. some months we can save 60 cents a gallon on 35 gallons, so it is really worth it to shop at Kroger.

| I spend about $1000 a month on groceries (that includes toiletries, cleaning supplies, etc.). It does not include dining out. There are 6 of us (me, hubby, G's-20 & 13, B's 18 &15). We are stationed overseas and I do pretty much all of the grocery shopping at the commissary on base. |

| I plan 20 dinners a month and shop for most of what goes into them all at once. I start at Aldi for basics, then Albertsons, the big stuff I get at Sams, but as the kids have grown and half of them have moved out I dont purchase as much there. I try not to go into Walmart,it is always such a stressful moment. I usually make one trip a week to the store for fresh produce, milk and bread. This sounds like alot but I actually spend less of my life going to the store. You cannt impulse buy if you arent in the store. We average about $80 a week for a 5 people. I dont do coupons, never can remember to use them and hunting them down would cut back on my YT and sewing time. |

| Does anyone cut salad stuff up ahead and actually have it last for 5 days? Going to blow some more $$ at Trader Joe's tonight. Stupid store. grrrrr. It feels like all we do in our free time is shop, cook, package lunches, eat, and clean the kitchen!

| There are some things that I do for short cuts, like last Friday. Hubby says "Baby whats for dinner?" me "Whataburger". Most of the time we do cook,we also redo leftovers so it isn't just the same ole stuff and I try to put something different inbetween a meal and leftovers from it. Quick and convient costs more, you are basically paying for the time that you didnt spend making the meal. Sometimes it is worth it. |

Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | We spend anywhere from $40 to $100 a week at the grocery store depending on what we get. Like the weeks we need toilet paper, other household cleaning items, etc. it's more.

| The Targets around here usually have a grocery section, but it isn't very big. If we could just go one week a month with buying no groceries, at the end of the year we could take a vacay. Went to Costco last night. That was $100 for stuff that we get every couple-few months and it isn't even figured into that $400ish a month.

I have been keeping my produce costs down (and food in general) by shopping more at Save- a- Lot and Bravo (more ethnic markets known for better prices) For example. Tombstone Pizza is $5,79 at Publix or $2.78 at Save-a-Lot. Exact same pizza

| Never even heard of Super Target (and I live in an area that has just about one of every chain store in MI). We don't have Save-a-Lot or Publix or Bravo or Safeway or Albertsons or Wegman's. How boring are we here!

| I used to go to the Aldis in P-burg and I just put boxes in my vehicle and pushed the cart out to it and unloaded them there.
