| Yes! But even worse, I used to drink the "normal" Coke. That's so evil on my tummy and totally unnecessary! I switched to diet thinking it's not bad for me, but water is the best thing for anyone. The thing is, I know this, yet I still drink diet coke and 7 up daily like it's water. Habits! |

| I am way too addicted to Diet Coke and also Diet Dr. Pepper. I am drinking so much of it that it triggers migraines....wayyyyyy too much of it!! I used to use the excuse that I needed it so that I wouldn't get migraines, but when I run out and haven't had any for a few days, I notice that my migraines are less frequent. I definitely drink too much of it! Last edited by TammyJM; 02-02-2011 at 05:27 PM. |

| MMMM, I haven't had Diet Dr. Pepper in months. That stuff is so good. I like Diet Vernors too.

| I don't drink soda because I remember in college a friend of mine was a pre med student and she told me that if you HAVE to drink soda that you should drink regular and not diet. She said that diet is really bad for you because your brain thinks you are getting regular soda and it's diet and it messes with you or something so I just stopped drinking it alltogether.

I consume way too much diet coke. My father teases me that I should switch to beer because it would be cheaper. I quit once for a week and I couldn't believe how mellow I was. I felt like I was on tranquilizers.

| I'm a diet pepsi-holic. I drink ridiculous amounts and if I don't have it I get severe migraines, so I drink even more just to keep the migraines down. I kind of dislike water too. It's just too plain. It has to be extremely cold... like almost ice, for me to like it.

| I've started putting those crystal light singles packets in my water, that way I get my water and a little flavor.

| Well, hate to be the bearer of bad news...I just underwent shockwave/stent surgery yesterday for a kidney stone which was analyzed to be from too much soda! Who da thunk it, eh?? Dang, my one true vice...must eliminate...but at this point I'll be glad just to reduce the consumption.

Thor's Human Donating Member | You can also try herbal infusions, like jasmine tea. For a while, I would make a couple pitchers of tea, one with caffeine, and one without, and then ice them. Also, not to go on and on and on about it... but I really love the Hint water. You can find them at Starbucks and Whole Foods, among other places. They are really neat - they taste exactly like water, but have a very strong aftertaste of different fruits. I drank four / day when I was quitting soda.

I just googled stones and found a list of high oxalate foods and drinks that may contribute to some kinds of stones. Some of my favorites are on the list: chocolate, spinach, and sweet potatoes. Uh oh.

| Devils Advocate.......I drink maybe one soda a month if that. They are extremely bad for you all around. Your teeth, your digestive tract, your bodies ph balance... and the list goes on and on. I drink tons of water, and green and herbal teas, and some crystal lite. Even more bad news.........The rule of thumb is, you take your body weight and divide it by 2, then drink that amount of water daily to flush out your system. Say you are 120 pounds, you should be drinking at least 60 fluid ounces of water daily. I know...I know ...throw your tomatoes now! |

I go through the equivalent of 2-4 cans the majority of the time lately. But I try to get in some water too. My poor kidneys. I should really treat them better.
