Ewwwwwww! |
Haggis anyone??? ;) |
**bumping** cuz this is a fun thread "D Anyone have thoughts on haggis?? |
I absolutely love Haggis. Closest I found over here is Kishka. Also grew up eating tripe. Mother would buy it at the local outdoor market on a Saturday. It was already "dressed" - meaning cooked. And we would eat it cold with vinegar on it. Also, being from the north of England I loved going to Bury market and buying a fresh hot black pudding from the vendor and walking around the market eating the black pudding - with English mustard on it. |

I dated a man from Manchester for almost 13 years....hence my love of weird foods ~ and curry :D |
I lived close to Manchester - place called Rochdale I also love curry - used to go to the Indian restaurant on Wickham road, but haven't been in a while. I always ask for chapati's. used to be one on 520 and the lady there always made the best masala chai. |

I love the restaurant on Wickham but one of the waiters was always hitting on me :sidesplt: |

what is Kishka? Where would one find it? We have a British market here called 4 and 20 that you can get meat pies and black pudding, Irish sausage,English bacon,ect...but NO Oxo lamb cubes :confused: I've looked everywhere for the lamb cubes  |
Kishka is a Jewish stuffed derma:) I haven't heard of that British market, where is it? I shop at Lord Ravenswood Hall occasionally. |
I've been in Lord Ravenswood Hall but I didn't think they had that much "out of the ordinary". 4 and 20 is in Sarasota. If you found a way to the meet (I can get you a ride with another YT member....;) ) we could go :D |
I would love to go Sugarmamma, but I just can't travel that far. |
Roshdale is very close to where he grew up, and his parents still live ~ Leigh! (I know you can't travel that far...I'm sorry :( I will have to meet up with you next time I'm in Melbourne) |
Leigh is close to Wigan. Wonder if he remembers George Formby. |
