my eyes bugged out when i read this

Well....glad you found that site for her to go to. BUT let me tell you...my best friends Shiz tzu DID HAVE AN EYE POP OUT!! From the groomer. It is something you do have to be aware and be careful about. The groomer pulled the topknot too tight and out popped the eye. Hanging there. So....yes, it can happen!! Not sure about the Lhapso breed tho.

Oh My GOSH!!! How horrible! I hope that cannot happen to Yorkies or Morkies. I got lightheaded when I read that! Poor doggies! Can it pop back in?

I have been trying to put Ceiba's hair in a topknot and now I will be sure not to pull to tight! Does anyone here know if it can happen to Yorkteses/Morkies?

Ceibasmom.I just had to tell you that your baby is absolutely georgous.I know all yorkie/yorkie crosses all beautiful but yours is some thing else.Looking forward to seeing more pictures as she grows.Oh and yes,I have been to visit you on dogster.

Thank you for your kind comments! Ceiba is the joy of my life and a big time daddy's girl. I keep searching for a little sister for Ceiba and in my searches, I haven't come across another one that looks like Ceiba, that's for sure!

pampered-puppy how come you don't want people to pm you I tried to send you massage but I couldn't talk to me and people I called the vet and they just budge out and if they get hit in the eyes they fall out that's all ok.

I have a little male Jap. Chin and yes his eye did pop out. Came home one day from running errands and it was hanging there. Rushed him to the vet and they did emergency surgery. Since it obviously hadn't been popped out for too long before I returned home it hadn't dried out - which makes putting it back in impossible. He is just fine these days and so far no more eyes popping out. Wish his eyes would have stayed put and I still have the $1,000 vet bill.

I had a lhasa apso once and its eyes never fell out! I never heard of one's that did.

I have heard of their eyes popping out if they bump them. They can be popped back in, but if left out too long, they will lose their eye. It is rare but can happen. This is true of all the bugged eyed type dogs...peks, llasos, shi-tzu's.

My Chin only weighs 3 lbs. 9 oz. so it could have easily happened during playing with the other dogs. I don't know how it happened as I wasn't home, but it was the first thing I noticed when I walked in. I freaked!!!!! The eye wasn't damaged and it was still moist so the vet popped it back in, stitched his eye lids shut for a few weeks and voila' a new eyeball.
