| Sad day for Lily and Me What a bad day!!!!! We have had Jello for 7 years and had to say good bye to her today. I am about sick to my stomach about it as I had to make the call. She had been acting different than usual for a week and then I noticed she wasn't eating and couldn't make it to the litter box. Very odd behavior in itself. I took her to the vet I had been using for the last 8 or 9 months and he passed it all off as a hair ball. I knew that wasn't right so I took her to another vet. Within the next 12 hours she was drastically sick. They decided she had pancreatic problems that were most severe. They told me she would more than likely not survive this and if she did would be on several meds the rest of her life. Additionally, this could be reoccuring and would probably lead to diabetes also. The ball was in my court and I chose to not have her suffer any longer. Since that decision, I am sick. I don't like playing God and being able to take a life like I did. I am not so sure I made the correct decision even. I hope to NEVER have to make another decision about putting a pet to sleep again.

| I'm sorry for your loss. I too had to make a decision like that just before christmas with one of my bunnies, but i knew it was best for him as sad as it was for me. The decision you made is the right one for someone who truly loves there pet.

| Oh sweetie, I feel your pain, really, I too had to put my cat to sleep 2 years ago, after 16 years, It is the hardest thing, but Don't feel guilty, you did the right thing by her, she is looking down and thanking you for not being selfish, and letting her go. It takes time, but you will remember all the good times, and the pain will get easier. I know. Take care, and your are in my thoughts today,,and Jello also. ps~ what a pretty girl.

| That is the hardest decision ever to make, but I think you did the right thing. It's a quality of life issue, and it sounds like she was in a cascading series of illnesses. If it were one thing, maybe it could be handled. Don't be so hard on yourself, and just remember the good times. I've had to put pets down 2 times now (out of a dozen probably), and it's never easy, but it's not supposed to be. My veternarian said I made the right choice, and his advice was do not rethink it... move on. That's hard, but he's right. If your cat didn't have you taking such good care of her, she probably would not have lasted the 7 wonderful years she did. Prayers coming your way for your peace of mind....
