That is the hardest decision ever to make, but I think you did the right thing. It's a quality of life issue, and it sounds like she was in a cascading series of illnesses. If it were one thing, maybe it could be handled. Don't be so hard on yourself, and just remember the good times. I've had to put pets down 2 times now (out of a dozen probably), and it's never easy, but it's not supposed to be. My veternarian said I made the right choice, and his advice was do not rethink it... move on. That's hard, but he's right.

If your cat didn't have you taking such good care of her, she probably would not have lasted the 7 wonderful years she did.
