My heart and my prayers continue to go out for you and your pups. I always think of you and pray for your health and that of your pups. It is my most sincere hope that you receive help for your RA and for your general well-being and for those you love. My prayers are still there for positive results on Razzle's T-4 panel. |
Gail, I am still thinking your your pups and pray for Zoey's complete recovery. |

Now it looks like we have raccoons in our attic Goodness me; my neighbour showed me where our vent was bent back up on the roof, and it is likely we have raccoons in the attic. What next? Oh yes also after spending $$$ last wk on my car, it is in with the mechanic again, this time the A/C doesn't work, and he says he has to take the dashboard off to find out what is wrong. It rains it pours..... :( |

Raccoons in the attic on my! Hope you luck turns better, but the emotional turmoil is always so much harder than the financial turmoil. Hope the treatment for Zoey goes well, but I've got to say, if Joey ever got it once, whatever anyone else said about “low incidence” wouldn't faze me a bit. I guess I've read that treatment was very painful, perhaps this has changed, but it sounds to me, like the benefits of monthly heartworm, outweigh the risks. Best of luck with your decision. |
Bless your heart!! I hope the raccoons haven't gotten into your attic. I am glad that Zoey is doing good with her treatments so far. You are all still in my prayers. |

Update Got the good news back that Razz's Thyroid panel came back great; just a tad on the low side for T4's which seems to be how he is tracking. I also await the OFA results which should confirm Dr Jack's verbal report. So onwards to other testing for Razz; CERF's, hip/elbow Xrays etal. PLUS given this repetitive number Dr Jack is not so worried that somehow the lab screwed up Magic's and Razz's results, on the first full blood panel. He is not so worried now about Magic's really wonky first blood panel, as the specific full liver panel came back clean as a whistle. What a relief, I just knew he was really concerned about Magic, (without saying so in so many words), and now I can rest a bit easier. We still have and per his recommendation another draw for Magic in 2/3 months plus repeat urinalysis ( protein in urine, very high PH,), but at least we can give some diet changes a chance to work. Diet changes for Magic, no raw veggies, and add 1500 Vit c's per day in his diet. Zoey gets her second wkly treatment of Heartguard tomorrow and seems to be doing just fine; she is still in heat, and driving our boys crazy but that's normal.lol We have only been taking her out very briefly for a pee n poo, and try to make sure it is at non mosquitoe times. Ie mid day here. If Dave is home early enough he will walk her, as I will not walk a female in heat; too risky for me; even though it is likely most male dogs are neutered around here, I don't want to take the chance of not being able to discourage a big dog who is intent on becoming her swain. I am waiting for the exterminator to come for the "raccoons" allegedly in the attic, and oh yes I'm still without a car. Apparently something broke in my heater block and it will be at least another $1K to fix it. So I may get the car tomorrow. Sigh |
Gail, that's wonderful news about Razz! :) And it's sounding good for Mr. Magic, too. Things are definitely looking up. I hate hearing about your car and the raccoon problems, but just keep telling yourself that they're fixable. You've been through several 'rainy' days lately but you've weathered those storms and that just means you have a year full of sunshine and happiness ahead of you. Hugs, Bonny |

Oh boy it sure stinks to be having additional problems with raccoons and then your car too. Keeping you in my prayers. :) |
So glad all the bloodwork came back good... keeping those prayers coming your way...:D |
Glad to hear you got some decent blood work updates. I have had to battle pH and crystals in my dog Teddy...... I learned that you do not want to acidify the diet (as with the vitamin C you are doing) for too long or you will cause oxalate crystals and subsequently oxalate stones to form. I liquify Teddy's diet with home made diluted chicken broth and it has kept his pH normal for months now. |
I'm overjoyed to hear about the results of Razzle's T-4 blood panel and very encouraged that Dr. Jack is less worried about Magic's first blood results. You have such special, beautiful boys. Razzle sounds so cute with his packmates. The problems with the "raccoons" and the car are very stressful to cope with, especially with all that you have recently faced. I hope things are able to be resolved very soon. We had a family of raccoons that took up residence in our fireplace for several weeks. I never saw one on our property before I saw them looking out at me behind the glass doors of our fireplace one rainy day. Although they couldn't get in the house, it was still scary. My girls were not phased by them at all, even as the babies played. The babies were beautiful, but I was quite relieved when they left. I'm hoping that, once these stormy times have passed, you have smooth sailing and wonderful times ahead. You and your family are always in my heart and my prayers. |
