Wonderful news! |
I'm always thinking of you and your family. Now that Zoey has been treated with Doxy and given Heartguard weekly for several weeks, have you heard from the hospital about when they can begin treating her with the adulticide? I know your mind isn't going to rest easy until you know your beautiful Zoey has been fully treated. The love and devotion you show your babies and the life you give them is always inspiring to me. I never fail to smile when I hear about your family. I pray that Zoey gets better soon and wish you and your family much health and happiness. |
Late on this update but super! on Razzle's results! Guess I'll check the other thread! Hugs... |
Did they do the Immiticide for Miss Zoey yet? How is she doing? All acting normal? |
Update on Ms Zoey: The immiticide is "still" on back order at the VEC here in Toronto; I spoke with Dr Norris about it Thursday. They have told me they have been checking with the supplier and they don't understand the delay; also that they experience this with other types of drugs; ie chemo drugs. On Friday I spoke with a vet tech at the OVC in Guelph Ontario, and their specialist's protocol is to have the dog on Heartguard for two months prior to the immiticide treatment. If I go there they want Zoey to have another months worth of Heartguard; and she said that the Doxy plus Heartguard I was doing was "old treatment protocol". This was related via the specialist to her and then to me. Zoey physically is doing well, no signs or symptoms of ill health. It is frustrating but, I will go with the hospital who gets the immiticide in first Thanks so much for remembering about Zoey |
When I looked up some stuff earlier on I read where there was a shortage around in November of Imiticide, and that they were giving it out to those who had the most need (the sickest dogs). Don't know at all what this is about, but it seems to be a manufacturer's problem, or a method of some type of control for whatever reasons they have. I'll ask around to see what's actually going on... I don't trust this situation, as the more dogs running around that are heartworm positive seems to me to be adding to the problem and making the situation of an epidemic inevitable. Not good no matter where we live. |
