| My parent's neighbors are a revolving door for dogs. The mom has nothing better to do then breed dogs for money, it is quite sad. Everytime I go back to my parents there is a new dog. But that is not the point. The dog breeds they choose: Mastiffs, Great Danes and Chinese Cresteds. At any given time they have at least 2 mastiffs, 2 great danes and at least one crested. They all run around and play and they haven't had anything happen to them. I personally think you'll be fine. I also have a 110lb GSD and an 8lb cat and while they don't play together, they has never been a close call with either one getting hurt. |

| My sister has a Great Dane that I don't completely trust around my kids or my Yorkie. In his case though, he was never around small kids when he was young. When he was about 7 or so, he bit my daughter (also about 7 years old). He didn't sink teeth in but rather lunged and scratched her face with his tooth. He has lunged at other kids too. Now they have a daughter and he is very protective of her. Just doesn't like other kids or other people's small dogs. I fully suspect it has a lot to do with what they are raised around.
