| Pugs? I think this has probably been posted already, but does anybody here own a Pug? I promised my boyfriend that after Franklin, he could get his own dog... a man-dog, if you will. The only condition is that it was small(er) and got along with Franklin well. We really like Pugs... we think they're adorable. Do any of you have Pugs and do they get along with your Yorkies? Also, can you tell me more about Pugs, as far as personality, maintenance, size.. things like that? Just general breed info. would be appreciated. Thanks!

| My daughter has a Pug, Harley. He and Buddy get along just fine. Pug's are a wonderful breed. They are not high maintenance like a Yorkie. Great with children also. Easy to please and ready to eat at all times. |

| I have a friend who has 2 Pugs, Diasy and Mugsy. They are ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE and so loving!! Mugsy, in particular, is very special. He actually SITS on his tooshy lolol It just cracks me up! I would LOVE to get a Pug but they shed and Jim and I are allergic. I'm soooo sad because I would love to own a Pug one day but I don't think it will ever happen for us. If you and your boyfriend are ok with shedding breeds and don't have bad allergies, then I would totally get one as they are very loving and playful!!

| Ditto on the shedding....I own two Pugs, and love, love, love them. My parents have Yorkies, which I love also and will one day have one or two, just no more room right now. My pugs visit the Yorkies all the time, and get along great--although I am careful to let them play with Yorkies 5 lbs.+ just to be safe. Besides the shedding, the other BIG issue is that you MUST be prepared to either keep them in air-conditioning during hot weather or watch them constantly to make sure they are not too hot. This is a serious issue, many pugs have died from heat-stroke. I see you are in Norman, so your weather is like mine. Mine are outside a lot (they hate being inside all the time), but I watch them very closely. You have to make sure they have plenty of water, shade, and are not playing or running around in the heat. Heat-stroke can happen so quickly. Once you are committed to providing them the care they need, and brushing often to reduce shedding, you are there. They will show you unconditional love, and are sooo cute (although some people think they are ugly, I cannot understand this). They snore when they sleep, and are great snugglers. Some do tend to overeat, so you may need to watch this. I will whisper this here, but pugs are actually my favorite breed of all. Feel free to pm me if you ever have questions I can help with. |

My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | I have a pug and her name is Lexie Lynne. She's 10 years old. She sheds, burps, farts, needs to have her nose wrinkles cleaned all the time, her tougne only comes out to one side, and she snores. I LOVE her to death! Another thing you have to look out for are their eyes. Lexie has what looks could be cateracts starting She's also had a couple eye injuries |

| I had 2 pugs before and they were wonderful. Good with other dogs and kids. They shed alot but other than that they are great. You just have to watch them around bigger dogs, I had a rescue at my home with my pug and they got along great but one time when they were playing the malamute hit my pugs head just right and her eye almost came out. I took her to the Animal ER and they fixed it but they said pugs are known for this, apparently if they are hit just right on their head it can cause they eyes to pop out. But anyway we loved our pugs very much and miss them alot! |

| I love Pugs!!!!!!!! They are a wonderful breed. They do have a few problems though. constant shedding heat issues eye problems Pug Dog Encephalitus LP breathing/trachea issues i am sure there are more. I had Pugs years ago. They were fun and so loving and comicle. You could always tell if a pug doesnt feel good: they uncurl there tail! Please buy from a reputable breeder and ask about Pug dog Encephalitus!!! It is a heart breaker!!!!! |

| I had a pugger. I loved him to death! I had to give im to a more loving family, at that time I could not take care of him. My best friend took him and hes happy as a lamb! Pugs are high maint. The shedding is what kills it for me. Jake shedded constantly and the hair is so course it sticks to everything. 3 years later I still have pug hair in my car. |

| i have a big black beautiful Pug named Lucy. She is spayed and is actually my husbands baby. She tries to play with the yorkies when I let them out but can't do much because she is so fat. She eats, sleeps, farts, snores and sheds like crazy but is a crazy wonderful dog. |
