It's not certain yet if I get to move to Austin. I still am waiting for approval from our new director who is based in New Jersey. I hope to hear from him when I go back to work. If he approves it, I will move in January or February. I had to renew my lease where I am and managed to get it reduced to 8 months but couldn't get a shorter one that that - darn! I really don't want to spend another winter here but looks like I have no choice. Kathy did you notice that you posted post number 23,100! I should go back to see who posted 23,000! |
LOL too funny - it was you Kathy! |
No I did not notice the post counts...funny,huh? Well...I think I may have a job...at least I have the offer, all I need to do is accept it. Still pondering the possibilities. It's with a health clinic, front office/reception/registration. I think I'd like it... How you doing Susie? Rehab going well I hope? |

I'm doing well. Starting back to work a few hours a day tomorrow for the rest of the week and then full-time next week. I'm really bored at home although I have been doing alot of reading that I wanted to get tackled. Of course it makes me want to read even more about the subject... Tink got chomped today by the naughty Golden, Sam, that lives on the corner. I thot she was a gonner cause he picked her up by her neck and Tink started yelping and screaming! Then he dropped her and stepped on her and Tink just laid there as still as a rock. The owner finally got Sam off of Tink and I realized that she was just scared to pieces. She was all wet from Sam's mouth and a little shaken but she is fine. I took her inside and checked her really well and there was no broken skin but she has been coughing all evening. If she's still doing that tomorrow, I'm calling her vet. Sam's owner puts the dog on a retractable leash and then he can't control the dog cause it's so strong it pulls the leash all the way out. I couldn't get to Tink quick enough to pick her up before Sam got to her. It's a wonder he didn't attack me cause I was hauling on his mouth to get Tink out! Bad dog!!! I talked to the owner later and he wasn't upset at all, he thought it was funny. Well, I didn't and I told him he had to get a sturdier leash if he is going to walk that dog. Their front "yard" is only about 10 ft. fron my front "yard" and Sam can cross that in a couple of seconds.:thumbdown Poor Tink was sitting in the window later growling and growling cause she could see Sam tied to a tree out in the side yard. :( |
I would be SO mad at that irresponsible dog owner!! Good grief doesn't he understand how easily a small dog can be hurt? I'm so glad Tink is ok. Did you find anything out about the fluid in her ear? Have you found out if your transfer has been approved or not? Be very careful looking for apartments online!! That is how my son found his in FL. He was turned down by the first place he applied for and after he got down there, was really glad they hadn't accepted him cause the complex was in bad shape - way different that the pics online. The place he got though, is exactly like it showed online and he is really happy with it. (except for the six speed bumps he has to go over every time he leaves or comes home ) He has a balcony off of the bedroom and another off of the living room, dishwasher, disposal, etc... he can have his cats there cause they allow up to 2 animals and he has a private entry - no walking down halls to get to his door. The rent is way less expensive than up here, which makes him happy. All that to say, be careful!! Some dishonest places have ways of making the buildings look and sound beautiful, but once you see them... anyway, you wouldn't sign any lease or anything without seeing the apartment first, right???? |
OMG...poor Tink. Bad dog, this Sam is. Winston says to tell Tink that he'd protect her if he were there, or least try to. Very relieved to hear that she seems fine...how about that cough? Kisses to Tink!!! Yes, I did accept the job...but it will be awhile yet before I am able to start. I've gotten my pre-employment physical...I have to go back tomorrow for them to check my TB test. Then I have to go and get finger-printed because the clinic works closely with DCFS and this is required...I do that on May 20th. Then I have to go up near Chicago for orientation, that will be on May 26th. So...I still have a little bit of free time. I love the concept of the clinic...it puts the "care" back into health care. That is exactly what I was looking for. The people I have met there so far, have been so kind, warm hearted and sincere. Which I never saw while working at the hospital, unfortunately. My director there actually told me that I was too nice and cared too much. What's up with that? I always thought a person working in health care should be nice and caring...anyway...I obviously never felt like I fit in there. So, on to other things...hopefully better things. Susie, take it easy going back to work, don't overdo it too soon. I really do hope that transfer is approved for you, and that you will be able to slow down just a bit...yet still feel a sense of accomplishment. I bet your daughter can't wait for you to be nearer. Hope everyone else is doing well... |
hello everyone........... man life is busy.......work too..I miss you all.....(((((hugs)))) |

Yes, I'll be careful looking for apartments. Sarah and her husband are scouting them out for me. I find one online I like and they go check it out and let me know. I also have a broker looking for me too. I haven't talked to my new Director yet to see what he is thinking about the transfer. Our business unit is still so mixed up with the new reorganization. I want to give him some more time to think about it before I bug him. Quote:
Kathy, Tink is fine. Her cough is better. I talked with Peter again yesterday and he stopped over last night to look at her. He thinks she is probably bruised but will be fine. Tell Winston Tink says "Thanks for wanting to pwotect me!" |
Hi thread. Happy Mother's Day tomorrow to all of the Yorkie Mom's. Good to "see" everyone again. Susie, I'm glad that you got Sam to spit out Tink. I would have been freaking out at that point. Tink, you are one tough cookie. |

I was horrified to read what happened to little Tink!! I would have been soooooooo upset at the owner of that Golden. Well, just glad that she is ok but that sure had to give her a good scare as well as you!! Poor Tink!!! She is such a trooper!!! Missing everyone it seems!! Yep, I'd love to have YT Thread Killer meet!! Let me know when! :p |

How is Tink doing? How are YOU doing after your last surgery? It IS nice to have a bit of nice weather, isn't it? I finally got some flowers planted today. I wish I could have HUGE gardens of flowers. The only problem would be I can't afford a gardener to weed them for me. |
Hey everyone...I started my new job on Wednesday!!! So far, so good. Sure do miss everyone...hope all is well. |

Aargh, I tried to multi quote and included Veg's and Susie's posts too, but I've lost them.:questione I'm sure it's just user error.:eyeballpc Anyway, I'm glad that thinks have thawed in Wisconsin! Things have thawed here too. We've actually been having really lovely weather. Any chance any of you have changed your mind about the meetup? It just won't be the same without any of the tk crew.:( |
Hello thread kids...I'm still here! We finally got to close on our house that we have been trying to buy for the last 9 months so I've been offline for a couple of weeks. The move is over and we're in...not organized or remodeled by any means but we're in! We had the hardwood floors refinished before we moved in and now we're deep in a total kitchen rebuild/remodel. It will be a while before we're finished...we have a ton of work to do...so the pool isn't even on the priority list just yet. Once we're done with the kitchen we're heading ot the main bathroom, and again...it will be a total rebuild/remodel. The dogs love having more room to run...our lake house was only about 1200 square feet and this one is almost 4,000 plus it sits on a double lot. The backyard is divided into 2 spaces...one for the pool and one for grass and concrete patio...perfect for the dogs...there's even a doggie dooley system already installed :) So, I'm back but I'll be in and out...we have soooo much work to get done and I know if I sit at the computer I won't do a thing! |
