Can any of you explain to this Englishman why every home does not have a storm shelter to protect people from a twister. ??

Surely it would save lives.

I confess that it is a similar situation here in Florida with hurricanes. We cannot have basements here due to the water table

But most up north have basements ~ I think Texas may be an exception??

I am hoping Betty is ok...it is not like her not to post something in the morning. Hopefully we will hear from her and it just a power outage.

I confess that I did not hear any bad news from her city specifically so I'm assuming the power is just out.

In my opinion, for what it is worth, in a situation like this I would call without hesitation.

Our friends are just so important to us and there is no harm thinking of them or even worrying over them.

As it is there is not enough love in this world it is sadly lacking and consideration for others is even more rare.

If I had the slightest concern for a loved one or friend I would call right away.

Only my opinion I don't intend to interfere sorry.
