| Well, there's always apple pie! One of my favorite low fat recipes is to peel and slice an apple (or two or three) and put it in a microwave bowl. Microwave it till soft (I'm not sure how long, just do a couple of minutes, check, repeat, and so on, till done) Then I add splenda or sugar till sweet enough and maybe a bit of cinammon. You can also add butter, but then there goes the low fat! My absolute favorite is apple dumpling, but I don't have a recipe, I'd eat too much if I ever made it!!!

| Peel and core some apples, (careful not to put a hole all the way thru the apple)coat the outside with butter, then put butter & brown sugar inside and sprinkle the outside with cinnamon-sugar and wrap up in foil and bake at 350 degree for about 30 to 40 minutes. These are always a hit when you have company over for a chicken dinner. |

| Do you know how to can? Because if you do, I have an Apple Pie Filling that gets canned and you will have filling to make pies all year long. Or you can make applesauce with your apples or apple butter. I have recipes for all, let me know if you want any.

| You are lucky to be apple to get good apples. I think that late freeze we had this spring messed up a lot of crops here. I soooo want to have a small orchard for just me....part of our land was once an apple orchard many, many, many years ago...found that out doing some research! I love apples.....Here are some family recipes (enjoy) Apple Crisp 6 apples, peeled and sliced 1 cup brown sugar ½ cup oatmeal ½ cup flour ½ cup butter, softened 1 tsp. cinnamon or nutmeg (or a mix of both) ¼ cup water Pre-heat oven to 350. Arrange apples in well greased baking dish. Blend all remaining ingredients, but water. Spread evenly over top of apples. Pour water over topping. Bake 45 minutes until apples are tender and top is crisp. Can use peaches instead of apples. Fresh Apple Cake Mix together: 4 cups diced apples & 2 cups sugar. Then add: ½ cup oil, 1 cup nuts, 2 well beaten eggs & 2 tsp. vanilla. Set aside. In separate bowl, mix together: 2 cup flour, 2 tsp soda, 2 tsp. cinnamon, 1 tsp. salt. Add to other mixture. Pour into 13x9 pan. Bake at 350 for 1 hour. Apple Salad 1 cup sugar 2TB flour 1TB butter 1 cup boiling water 3TB vinegar 1 egg yolk (beaten) ¼ tsp. salt ½ tsp. lemon juice Add vinegar, butter & lemon to boiling water. Mix flour and sugar, add just enough water to make paste. Add egg yolk. Stir into boiling water, cook until thick. Let mixture cool and then add chopped apples and chopped nuts. Refrigerate.
