I started the 6 Day Body Makeover on Tuesday, and already lost 4.5 lbs. WOW. I know it's likely all water weight, but my body was definitely telling me I needed to make a change. My day goes something like this: Breakfast - 3 egg whites, 1/2 grapefruit 3 hours later- 1 cup greens, 2 oz chicken, fish, or turkey Lunch- 1/2 cup brown rice, 1/3 cup veggies, 3 oz chicken, fish, or turkey 3 hours later- 1 cup greens, 2 oz protein Dinner- 1/2 cup brown rice, 3 oz lean protein, 1/2 cup veggies 3 hours later- Optional 1/2 cup berries or grapefruit This is for 6-10 days then you can add in extra carbs, ect. It is sooo hard, I have to say. No salt, no oil, nothing.. it's rough. I think I am modifying it a bit, so that I'm eating plain oatmeal in the morning, and possibly an apple with peanut butter (all natural), for a snack. But, I am super happy with the results so far and I haven't even gotten to work out yet! I was in the ER all day monday with a ruptured ovarian cyst. Not fun at all. But I'm feeling better today and can't wait to go on a long walk :) |

Is this a book or is there any print material on this diet? I have never heard of it before. Do you weigh your meat/fish on a food scale to make sure you are eating the 3 ounces? Sounds like something I could do..... Sorry to hear about your ER visit, hope you get better soon! I used to eat according to the South Beach Diet and loast 30+ lbs last year, never gained any of the weight back, except for when I went on my honeymoon! |

I am right there with you on the drugs--- we have pharmacueticals shoved down our throats at every turn. Our bodies really can take care of themselves if we give it the right supplies. WHOLE foods are so important. You should have very little in your pantry that comes in a box, can or with more than 2-3 ingredients. Salt, fats and sugars are addictive---- when you cut back you will start to actually taste your food again and be surprised how your palate changes. For the better. I say cut back because you do need some salt, sugars and fats------make them good ones that count. Extra Virgin Olive Oil Organic sugars Stevia is a natural no calorie sweetner made from the leaves of the stevia tree---Sweet Leaf Grey sea salt that is full of natural minerals and is actually less salty tasting. The Hubster and I do not have health insurance and I invest in my food choices------I have not been to the dr in years for anything other than my yearly stuff. I eat really great food---just waaayyyy too much of it. |

Ok I am in!! I have been loosing weight for a few months. I have already lost 15 and I want to loose 25 more. I am tiny 4 feet 11 inches so even if I am 10 pounds more then my health weight it looks like more! I have started to eat more veggies and fruit and fiber less red meat. Also I started to drink water. I only drink soy milk and get the lite kind at that. I walk every day sometimes up to 2.5 miles other day's 1.5. I do exercise in my home too. Thanks for starting this thread, it could motivate us all unto a healthy path! thanks, Brandy. |

We just use a scale to measure out the meat and fish and it works fine! It's a bit of cooking and preparation, but if you don't mind that.. it isn't too bad at all. The lack of salt is VERY hard for me, but I definitely am getting familiar with the other spices in the house, lol! The author is Micheal Thurmond.. if you go to google and look that up there are tons of good and bad reviews on the diet :) |
OK everyone - we can do it - by reading everything - we are all on the right track - and everyone has great pointers and tips that could help us all. It's at night like from now (8pm until 11pm) that is a killer for me. But I have my 100-200 snack and then lots of water...I've been stuck on these stupid 7 pounds so at least I'm not gaining anything back. I can't go to spinning class for another week or so since hubby is going out of town all next week and I'm on Izzy and kitty cat patrol and exercising 3 nights already next week is all I want to be away from them. ;) This is a great thread - let's keep each other motivated. It's going to really get tough when the holidays start coming in a couple of months - that will be a killer with all the parties, wine, martinis....yikes. |
The Holidays, don't even mention... Uhh Oh! I went to the grocery store tonight, and bought whole wheat bread, I am on a good start. I also got yogurt for a mid day snack:) |
Baby carrots and fat free dip (if you want it) are good snack to munch on.Veggies are good for you! Also crystal light has these little packs that you can add to your bottle water, I have tried the peach and it was tasty, I only do one a day as a treat. I am having a hard time giving up my coffee tho, I do use 8 continent light instead of milk and I do not add sugar so I shouldn't feel too guilty with drinking it.;) |

Thats what meant to get. some raw veggies, darn. I don't have a problem with coffee, I don't like it so atleast I don't have to cut that out:D |

You are all doing GREAT!!! I've been doing Weight Watchers since my mom is a lifetime member she provided me with all the info and I have found it to be really easy for me. I also walk 2-3 miles with Simon everyday :) |

It's "The Goddess Workout with Dolphina. Bellydance: Beyond Basics" and it's fantastic! |
Ok. I am going to search it on the interenet tomorrow to see what stores around me have it. Thanks:) |
I will weight myself in the morning (when I weight less) Hey girlies, I am going to weight myself in the morning. Are we posting lbs lost or our real weight? I was always really "too thin" before I had my two children. Now I am making brownies, cookies, all that halloween candy...Ahhhhh!!! Birthday parties... the list never ends. I really need to keep motivated to exercise. I have read that if you continue to exercise for a month it becomes a habit. Do you want to hear the saddest part for me? I am so embarrassed to even type this on any board. One of my degrees is in Physical Education. I used to exercise all the time. I was very much into Socrates... well rounded person mind, body, spirit. I swear I could have stayed in college forever. I really love learning, discussing, sometimes arguing. It make our minds work harder... wow, sorry for such an aside. I am going to lose weight this year and keep it off. I promise to all of you that I will exercise, and help motivate you on the days you need help. Today I really kicked butt on cleaning the house. My house is so clean. I love it when my house is clean and organized. I fell like I can relax when things are clean. Lets keep strong, and soon we will all be lean and long:thumbs up |
